Okay since it’s mostly men here i pose a question and you must answer honestly.

do you guys do any form or skincare? And do you think it’s important?

No. I am comfortable with my ruggedly handsome, weathered skin, but I'm also not a self absorbed millennial.

Do you at least wash ur face lol? Even just washing everyday & night with a cleanser and then putting moisturiser on after will clean ur skin.

even for ppl who work tradie jobs all the dust can clog up your pores! It takes 2 mins to do each morning and night and ur skin will thank u

Me too but I've had dry skin all my life so I moisturise occasionally when I notice it and remember.

the only reason to why I kind of pose this question is because i think more boys & men now are now figuring out that they should take care of their skin as much as others do.

You only get one face and your skin is the biggest organ in our body so why not take care of it as much as you can? It’s not feminine to look after your skin, there are a lot of mens products coming on the market.

Its as easy as cleanser + moisturiser + sunscreen.

i don’t get why people are laughing about it lol I just want people to feel clean and to take care of themselves.

After showering is really easy to remember to put on moisturiser, especially because it’s going to get hotter hydrating will be really beneficial

It is, but the intention it to normalise men doing skincare.

i don’t get why you laughed at my main post though? Do you not like skincare? What’s the problem?

Skincare?

Its a pretty privileged thing to be wasting your time and money on. For men and women.

If you want to moisturise your skin grow aloe vera and mix it with the leftover bits of food you prepare (ie avocado that is left inside on the skin of the avo after you make your toast) or use olive oil, various other plant oils and other stuff. What you call skin care keeps your skin sof and weak and lessens its ability to do its job protecting you. Get a flow hive in your backyard and use the raw honey you produce. Thats about as good as anything you can put on your skin and if you have a partner you can spend time licking it off each other afterward.

Its all marketing off the back of a dodgy industry - the beauty industry - that only exists because it spends its time telling most people they aren't good enough to be in society if they don't use its products.

Yep and yep.

I was having some issues with my skin over the past few years with rosacea and some breakouts so jumped on one of those online medical sites. I had a course of antibiotics and a medicated skin cream. The dermatologist gave me a plan to follow that included cleansing twice a day, sunscreen every day, and moisturiser. The sunscreen is very important as the antibiotics and prescription skin cream increase sensitivity to the sun and I am pretty fair to start with. The improvement in about a month has been fantastic. Super easy too. Just jump online, describe the issues you want to address, upload a few pics, and you get a review by a dermatologist within 24 hours with no need for a referral.

Of course you can use natural products but every skin reacts differently.

I don’t think it’s a waste of money and time on skincare, especially if you are seeing results with products that have been recommended by dermatologists.

I am using an antibacterial wash, retinol, vitamin C and sunscreen. I have seen rapid improvements in my dark spots. The chemicals are gonna reduce the skins barrier but it can be protected by the use of sunscreen.

there are many good chemist warehouse brands that cost very little but are formulated with good ingredients, that’s where I get my products from.

Bare minimum, you should wash, exfoliate and moisturise. So many men barely do the first step, and a bizarre amount never do the latter two.
