Probably a combination of signed up 16 years ago, some light spamming, not having a life + a whole lot of crap posted in TV threads on EB.

I know very little about AFL tbh.. :thumbsupv1:
oh... ok

I calculated I'll have 25k posts by the end of the year...I think

Surely even the most rusted on LNP supporters admit that this is deeply concerning, to say the absolute least, and utterly ****ed up with the potential to undermine our entire democracy at worst?

It's yet another incident of blatant and transparent corruption from this government, further proof that they hold the entire country in contempt. And I've lost count of how many times that's happened now. They are utterly ****ed, and I don't care, if you're still supporting them after everything that's happened during this term of government then you seriously need to reevaluate your own biases because it's truly been one of the most corrupt and scandalous governments that this country has ever seen.

Being a bit of an extremist there old chap. Pointing out the blatant corruption, incompetence and criminality of the current federal government is partisan in the extreme.

BTW, totally agree with you. A Federal ICAC with retrospective powers, like the Fitzgerald Inquiry, but permanent, all those years ago is an absolute must.

Can you explain to me what that means in layman’s terms? Idk what prima facie means or what cporterwa is? I’m not well edumactated, or at all really.

Yep, agreed. How ****ing pathetic was Morrison on Sunrise the other day using the Berejiklian situation as an example of why federal ICAC would be bad? No, campaigner, that's exactly why it should exist.

I've said it a million times on here but it's worth repeating: I don't endorse federal Labor either. This isn't a partisan thing for me. This government is transparently corrupt. It's devoid of anything resembling compassion and empathy. It doesn't give a **** about anyone that earns less than a few hundred K a year.

And if anyone reading this is has been a LNP voter in the past but now has concerns but is also like, "Well, sure, they're bad, but Labor wouldn't be better so why vote for them?" or "Votign for smaller parties is a waste" then you should know that we have a system called preferential voting (IMO this is the single most important but widely not understood facet of our democracy). Voting for smaller parties is really important for the parties themselves in terms of funding but it also means that your vote is never wasted.

Essentially (and this is in a nutshell type stuff. I don't pretend to be an expert), Christian Porter received a huge donation from an unknown 'blind trust' for his legal fees regarding the historical alleged rape and the defamation suit against the Milligan and the ABC, and the federal government has consistently resisted efforts from other politicians to investigate the source of that donation. The speaker, the man in the photo, a Liberal MP no less, ruled that the case should be referred to a parliamentary committee for investigation, but the government, the speaker's own party, voted it down, the first time such a thing has happened if Dempster's research is correct.

It opens all sorts of questions, the most extreme of which, for example, is that an unknown figure(s) has just indebted a sitting MP, which opens him up to all sorts of manipulation.

The problem for the PM is that they hold a razor thin majority in parliament. If Porter's dirty laundry comes out his position in parliament becomes untenable. They would lose any by-election, which they may not even have a chance to have before the next federal election with is due before March(?) next year.

With his seat being abolished in the next election due to re-distribution and the big swing to the ALP out west, it is likely he is gone next election. So they will brazen it out and try to smear the opposition for holding them to account.
