Just listening to bbc world news, the trial is starting of the murder of Ahmaud Arbery the the memories of how bad this was are coming back.

He was just a young man going for a jog because he was an athlete and two people just assumed he was a robber fleeing the scene because he was black. They then hunted him down and killed him. The police arrived at the scene while Ahmaud was still alive, rolling around on the ground in pain from being shot. Instead of first assisting Arbery and then arresting the two suspects, the police ignore Arbery and console the people who shot him. The female officer has a conversation with says to the man who shot him, the man says “if he had of stopped this wouldn’t have happened”
“I know this must be hard” says the officer as Arbery is literally still alive but in agony and dying.

I haven’t heard it so can’t confirm but apparently the killer even made some sort of racist comment.

Lock the prick up and throw away the key. What a scumbag.

Just another example that will be ignored by those who deny their is racial bias in the governmental systems it is used to describe.

It’s pretty shocking. Really hits home when you hear her consoling the shooter and knowing that the kid is lying there dying. She must have known the shooter personally, but that’s still not the appropriate response.

It’s hard to understand. Racism is the only thing that makes sense.

It was reported and a guard tracked him down and then the man managed to inject the guard in the neck with the substance. The guard survived but ended up in hospital, he told the doctor what happened and there was an injection point on his neck.

Could be coincidence but it could’ve caused the mass hysteria.

Another show of his he convinced someone to jump off a the balcony and he broke 2 of his legs.

That’s an interesting link. Travis Scott has a really young following. I could be wrong but I think a lot of the selfishness with covid has come from gen x and older. Looks like that with the peanuts at the protests anyway.

On one hand at Astroworld there’s youthful recklessness and on the other with covid there’s an older sort of entitlement or even just not like being told what to do.

That’s where I don’t agree. I think that great generation thing is a myth. The generation you’re referring to was full of bigotry of all types, racism was rife, sexism and domestic violence was a huge problem. The boomers were responsible creating a lot of the change in those areas.
