Stand in solidarity with people across the USA? Their supreme court didn't remove abortion rights, they said the federal government/court doesn't have jurisdiction to make that judgement, same as exists here. A Roe vs Wade type case would have been sent to a state court or rejected as a federal case.

Would it be ideal to have one federal consistent law/policy? Perhaps, it would likely be inferior to what some states provide their citizens, having an individual approach gives the opportunity for different states or territories to try different things, see what works best. Different states/territories seem to have better policies in some areas, worse in others. It is a bit like capitalism vs socialism and the difference between competition and incentivisation vs having one cumbersome bureaucracy making decisions.

I don't know what is the best approach, but we have democratic freedom to pursue best practices, we aren't really fighting for the rights to get abortions, like some places in the USA. We want to go back and have someone like ScoMo deciding if you can get an abortion or not? It makes it harder for a regressive system being reintroduced if someone can simply fly to a different state, doesn't it give a greater level of protection?

I think some states could do better to make it less of an economic burden, I think the major difference is the states which handle them through the public hospitals and those that utilise private clinics, it should be something states can address/improve on. Is it something that needs protesting about? People can do whatever they like but it comes across as a white upper class social media type of protest to me.

There were states in the US that had laws ready to go immediately that decision was passed that banned abortion and in some cases the penalty for abortion after a rape is worse than the penalty for rape.

So the practical effect of that decision was to remove abortion rights for women in some states in the US immediately. You can bang on about technicalities till the sky falls but that is the reality. If you're objecting to women in Australia protesting about that to show support to women in those states well ... stop being a campaigner. I dunno what else to say about that.

People that whinge about protests or judge protests they don't agree with as inferior while protesting about other stuff shit me. Its one of the reasons I wasn't critical of anti vax and lockdown protesters even tho I disagree with their protest.

White upper class people are allowed to protest too but I reckon that's just some gloss you've put on this protest to justify your own de-legitimisation of it and that women of alot of demographic backgrounds are there protesting.
