Heading to Europe next week for a month. Going to be a solo trip.

Anyone travelled solo before? any tips, recommendations do’s/dont’s

Cheers
I did 3 weeks in remote Indonesian islands before meeting up with mates in Nepal.

Really enjoyed my time alone. Literally do whatever you want , whenever you want.

If you are looking to meet people , pub crawls , tours ect are a good option

Congrats on the new job.

Unless you're being paid bucket loads no job is worth too much anxiety.

Hope the new one goes well!
very good advice,
just a pity that some arseh*le can make a position that would otherwise be a great fit untenable.

I have worked at the same place in the same field for many years effectively doing the same work which i actually like, the only difference over the years are various managements. oddly enough this is the variable that makes it a good or a bad place to work rather than the actual job. even the remuneration hasn't changed much over that time. fortunately/unfortinately ( depending on the compentacies of the incumbent) there is a lot of churn in the management ranks as they have a reasonably portable set of skills, the tech people less so as a lot of our skills are related to the asset.

Heres my take on it, a management outfit that is constantly banging on about their people and their culture and various other slogans are the ones with the worse people and culture practices. the ones where you barely hear it mentioned generally have the better practices.

100%

Pay people what they're worth, treat them with respect, respect their life outside of work, and you'll generally have a happy workforce

*! The house nearly burnt down.

The dog food fridge *ed out and started burning. Good thing we were home.
The real story here is that you have a dog food fridge. I'm assuming you have a separate beer fridge too Ferbs.
