The debate playing out in parliament over whether to have an indigenous voice in government is really cringe, from both parties.

Personally I do think they should have a voice, but I think both parties are just playing to their base.

Bloody polies, Albo is about as genuine about it as he is about rolling with an akubra and the libs just don’t care either way.

Absolutely, and it dont need a referendom as nor did gay marriage laws.

Stroke of a pen and atsic, voice or whatever you choose to call it could be reinstated as Bob hawke did.

But hey as they say in politics never let a good crisis go to waste.

Try K Ay Mart, 😉
The smooth operator on the farm across from my old one only wore the RB Sellars gear. I was entirely more daggy than him, much to the dismay of my best little mates mum. Mind you, I didn’t dye my hair either 😉🤔🤣🤣🤣

School reunions, I generally have mixed emotions about.

Rarely do I find their stories enthralling except this...

So a guy I was at school with since grade 4, was due in the Supreme Court this week, but more recently fled overseas on a one way ticket.

His was a long running battle, which he kept winning, until one day facing the full bench of a particular court (because his opposition kept appealing), they found against him and he was ordered to pay all costs.

Obviously I've kept a few details vague on purpose and I just pissed myself when his close friends told me. He was a barrister.

They had unlimited resources, he thought he was on a crusade for the people, but found out very quickly how to lose 500,000+.

You say he was a barister, dont they say the person who represents themsef has a fool for a lawyer?

Obviousely a campagner as well from the sorrow you appear to be displaying,
I don't know if he represented himself or not and some people are just born pieces of garbage, he was well on his way.

I don't watch a lot of TV in general because it is full of garbage so I haven't been following this coming referendum very closely, I just don't know what the point of this is about. We have 11 sitting first nation senators and MPs, 6 are in the LP so they are part of the current government and somehow there is no indigenous voice in Parliament? I don't get it. There are a number of indigenous political groups that are there to leverage their support to political groups in turn for kickbacks or favourable political decisions and this is the way we help to guide policy decisions being made.

I think if more first nation people want to get into politics and influence policy, they should either get involved in existing parties or form their own, you wont get into power unless your policy represents the interests of all people in your constituency and that is how it should be. To me, it doesn't seem there are barriers for first nation people in politics, there just hasn't been enough interest in pursuing it. I don't think I have ever seen a first nation person on the ballot in my electorate or I wasn't aware if they were.

I don't have a high opinion of politicians in general, career politicians are only in it for one thing, for themselves... it is a career. They don't give a shit about anyone else and the sooner people realise it then people can just focus on the policy and if it is best for your electorate and the country in general.

I don't care if this thing passes or not, it isn't going to make a spit of difference either way for the people, the only thing that changes is how much oil is required to grease the political wheels and who gets greased in the process. I am happy for there to be more first nations hands being greased, but let's not make it out like anyone is going to give a shit about the people.

1 of 3 times this year I’ll watch the game for cavemen with an IQ equal to Jack Higgins.

2 states to be - QLD and pissed.

May the hits be large, the punches connect and the meatheads be meatheads.

Bad way to go. Either from exposure in freezing water or what could be a shark a 0:03.

Imagine the fear that sets in as the ship drifts away in the distance as you try helplessly to catch up, as the pitch black of silence sets in. Even if the ship eventually did turn around, it would have taken a couple of hours to get back to that spot and he would have drifted away anyway.

Feel for the kid but this is definitely a Darwin award nominee.
