I wanna surprise him for his principles dinner, I have a rough estimate of his sizes and cause he is tall and skinny it’s really easy to guess when he is a size 30 waist

It's good that you asked this in advance.

I reckon the move is to take your brother to a suit fitting as the surprise, and buy the suit for him etc. As a bloke that would be even better than just receiving a suit.

I agree with Val but if you want to surprise your brother, take a guess at his size. You can always take it back if it's not right.

Try to get one where the jacket fits straight off the peg i.e. without the need for any alterations. If the trousers don't fit, that's not much of an issue as they're generally easy to get altered.

I definitely think it will fit because I took the measurements from his school blazer that fits him. I think it will be more the look of it that he won’t like I accidentally got the collar with the shiny stuff lol.

I hope you've also been mindful of the number one criterion in relation to suit purchases for single males under (and arguably over) the age of 40 - will it enhance his chances of pulling a root? Style, size, colour etc are all secondary to this consideration.

Bloody kids these days. The leangth is an easy fix and the collar can be dulled, or he could wear a scarf. Make sure he only does up one button
