I agree and nobody wins in war. I've been follwing this conflict from the beginning and have seen some truly horrifying footage that has brought me to tears. What I want is this conflict to end so that Ukrainan soldiers can return to their familys and that they and the civilans can begin rebuilding but for that to happen Russia has to leave.

When the inital rounds of peace talks happened I hoped they would succeed and that the war would end quickly.

What you're neglecting is Putin doesn't negotiatie in good faith and that link you shared even states that Putin seems uninterested in a compromise that would leave Ukraine as a sovreign state. How do negotiate with some one who belives your country shouldn't exist?

Even a former Russian Diplomat states Putin can't be trusted.

Of course he cant be trusted , he is a career spy.

BTW That's an episode of a sitcom taking the piss out of Dubya, written by the creators of South Park, specifically talking about the War on Drugs. Its takes weeks to load but is very funny.

Imagine being the person at the Whitehouse that caused an evacuation because someone found your coke stash 😳
historians are going to look back at this time and laugh.

Certainly not suggesting that I think it's impossible some young Democrat staffer likes to get on the nose candy from time to time.

However this specific instance really does sound like this was probably not the case;

"Secret Service agents were doing routine rounds on Sunday when they found the white powder in an area accessible to tour groups, not in any particular West Wing office, the officials said."

There's no way any WH staffers getting on the bags at work are doing it in the public lobby areas.

??
I would’ve thought tourists would’ve been way more scared of carrying in substances, to one of the most secure places in the US, that gets them prison time, as opposed to staffers who realised no one actually cares about that anymore.

Fwiw it’s a generational thing, you read that Lehrmann guy talking about getting bags in text messages?
It’s literally everywhere, someone probably was heading out for the night, realised that weren’t going to make it home in time, carried it in, and accidentally dropped it.

My bet is some douchey frat type got a tour ticket and bragged to his buddies how he was going to do some white in the white house.

Either way, they only do tours when POTUS isn't there so this is a big nothing story, really.

You’ve pretty much described most of the people who work in Washington.

Agreed it’s a nothing story.
Apart from the fact how criminalised it is over there, just legalise it and move on.

100 per cent staffers are doing it. Its rife in politics.

UK Parlaiment

Scottish Parliament

As DesertRoo said those Lehrmann messages indicate how rife it is.

Did that particular bag in the WH belong to staffer? Dunno? Are staffers doing it in the WH?

100 per cent.

They're also doing Adderall and all other kids of "medicinal speed" too.

The only story is the same people who are bringing bags into parliament, are arguing how we should get tougher on crime/the war on drugs.

there’s one rule for them and different one for some kid in the streets.

Just legalise drugs already, stop this political nonsense.

Hmmmmmmm.

Initial reports indicated the substance was discovered in a reference library. The Associated Press, citing two officials who were unauthorized to speak about the investigation, later on Tuesday reported that the white powder was found “in an area accessible to tour groups, not in any particular West Wing office”.

Lucky we had those two anonymous officials there to clear it up and reassure us all it wasn't actually in the work area, but in the publicly accessible bit.
