Yeah lol she took a pic of her mum getting detained or whatever and said “about time”

The parents were ****ed like 0 privacy whatsoever, I always knew of them and how crazy they were but could never bring myself to watch their vids.

I think Ruby’s sister has also been campaigning or something like that to get her arrested.

She comes across as very narcissistic. Wanting to come across to the outside world as the ideal family and the model mother.

People who won't even be alive in 5-10 years dictating policy that will affect the rest of us for decades.

It's quite sick huh. It's all a game to them and they just can't let go.

I have zero sympathy for them though. They dedicated their careers to making sure any meaningful healthcare for the average guy on the street is made as hard as possible meanwhile they have access to the best at the expense of the people they screw over. My American friend straight up avoids going to the doctor entirely out of fear of being bankrupted. He still gets bills from a hospital visit from 1 year ago, from the big stuff to using a paper cup for some water.

TBH I just follow American politics because it’s fun. It’s the WWE of politics.

Weirdly I wasn’t a fan of Lausanne in Switzerland.

Edit- I was thinking more about my experience vrs expectation, that’s not what you asked. I had a bit of travel fatigue when there though and there wasn’t much going on. It’s absolutely beautiful to look at though.

KL in Malaysia would be my answer, but again that’s just my experience because I was stuck there after the Iceland volcano eruption grounded all the planes and the security at the airport with their machine guns were a tad over the top.
London...

First major experience out of Australia... thought it was something different growing up... really disappointed by it

Lausanne is so beautiful but also soooooooo boring

Not sure it brings about any great change.

Germany for me. A lot of hype from people who do Oktoberfest etc. but Munich just felt like Melbourne with a slightly better preserved old centre.

Different parts of Germany are very different. It's not like Australia where every major city basically feels the same.

The cities along Germany's western borders feel like an entirely different country compared to Berlin. And Bavaria is the same.

I liked Germany.

Almost like Germany isn't a real country and is a stitched together patchwork of very different smaller regions and cities with very different cultural, climatic and even linguistic features.

I found the diversity of cities in Germany bigger than in Australia but nothing in comparison to southern and central Europe. Noting Berlin and Frankfurt were the only major cities I didn't visit.

To me, most of the major cities very much felt like the rest of the big cities we're already familiar with her in Aus. Lots of modern buildings just with somewhat more preserved old centres.

I don't know whether it's because I spent a lot of time in other parts of Europe first where the cities just felt older. Hard to explain.

Yeah, to be fair a lot of Germany had to be rebuilt in the late 1940s and 1950s.

Probably because many German cities were bombed flat 80 years ago and were rebuilt during the same time that Australian and US cities began destroying much of their heritage too,

It is something you get outside Germany too. Rotterdam feels like a cold Brisbane or Perth with its very modern gleaming riverside architecture, while much of Amsterdam and The Hague are beautifully preserved and feel far more "European".

A big part of it is that cities that were mostly built postwar were built for cars. Watched this great video about it a while ago:

-real ale pumps in the UK
-each beer having their own little timber glass stand in Belgian,
