I’m going to Colombia with my partner today. No, nothing to do with white powder. It’s a short holiday because she hasn’t seen her family for 6 years. Our last two attempts were ruined by COVID. During that time she wasn’t even allowed to exit the country to attend her Dad’s funeral because there were no visa exemptions to return.

Evening all, in the process of booking flights to South Africa and have found return flights through flight network with qantas than the same flights booking through qantas. Has anyone used them before and any idea how they are cheaper than directly through qantas? Thanks

I've used a few of these third party sellers over the years for generally good outcomes. They will nearly always be cheaper than booking the same flights directly through the airline. The reason for the discount is that you typically have less flexibility in relation to changing flights once booked.

However, I always google the specific company to determine their reliability. It seems that Flight Network might be a bit risky (google "Flight Network reviews") compared to some of the others, e.g. FlightNetwork.com is rated "Average" with 3.2 / 5 on Trustpilot

Try to determine if the seller is affiliated with a larger company like Flight Centre, as they will be fully reliable.

Go to an agent mate. Too risky at this point in time.

Friend of my wife's recently flew to Europe via Singapore. Flight from Cairns ran late, missed connecting flight and they charged her $280for it! But wait, there's more...

16hrs after landing in Prague, Singapore Airlines calls her - sorry your return flight seat cancelled, if you want same flight 6k for business class.

Called agent she booked through, sorted connecting flight fee out, booked her on flight the day after original flight, no charge.

They are trying anything to recoup their covid losses...
