Multiple officers could not detain him and put him in cuffs without using it. I suggest you look at police officer taser guidelines because it was more than okay to use it and if anything he got more freedom than acceptable.

Once they had him face down the ground with them on top of him he wasn’t going anywhere.

He was still restraining. You have no idea if he could or couldn't be held down. He's not under control until he's in handcuffs. Which they could not get him into. He was on drugs and clearly a strong individual. He could have easily relaxed for a minute, lulled the officers into a false sense of security and tried to explode out. He was also telling others they weren't officers and to help him...what if someone else jumped in and tried to get involved...that's a dangerous situation to be in.

The priority is not attending to Anderson’s intoxication. The priority is to protect the public from a guy involved in a hit & run who is now fighting with the police in traffic...after running away...twice. And is refusing to listen.

What he had died if he wasn’t high on cocaine and marijuana? Would he have died if he just sat down and listened to the officer? Would he have died if he stopped resisting arrest and ignored the 14 taser warnings?

Please. Are you telling me that you watch that video and don’t think the cops had stopped him being a threat once they had him pinned face down? He wasn’t going anywhere after that.

The cop that tased him should, at the very least, have his badge removed immediately.

Correct. I don't make assumptions when I myself haven't tested the individuals strength. Based on what I can see - 4/5 officers could not get him into handcuffs despite him being on his stomach on the ground. He resisted long enough to be told 14 times that a taser would be used and still managed to resist after 4 hits with a taser. If that doesn't say the individual was strong I don't know what does.

My take aways from the video were: don't do drugs, don't put others in danger, don't do drugs and drive, don't run away from a crime scene, listen to police officers. But of course I don't have an agenda to push...

I don’t know mate.

To me it looks like the cop got overcome with the moment, lost his shit and went too far.

Sure the bloke that was being arrested wasn’t being rational, presumably in a psychosis, but they had him under control. There was no need to continue to tase him like that.

Id understand if the dude was threatening, or armed, but he wasn’t.

It’s a tough job being a cop and some people just can’t cut it.

So the gorgeous baby blackbirds in the nest on our neighbors guttering fledged and one of them was in our yard, just hopped out after the rain hit about an hour ago. Went inside to grab a box to bring it in for the night (I know you are supposed to leave them be but) because we have possums that go along the fence every night and sometimes into the yard, plus a cat in the area which we don't know if is left inside or not. And it being a pretty cool night now too with the rain.

However it's managed to hide in the tall grass on the sides of the fence which I was going to snip last week and I can't locate it in this darkness now, even with lights, so best I can hope for is that the grass is thick enough for the Possums not to smell it out. It's possible it somehow jumped through the horizontal plank fencing part of our yard, into the courtyard behind.

If I had captured it I had some various fruit and crackers to get it through til morning when it's parents could feed it. If it doesn't make (and I'm suspecting it won't) it I'm definitely going to feel responsible and pretty shit!
 
Shitting absolute bricks today - got my clinical assessment this morning - really excited cause after this I’ve finished the course but ****ed cause it’s the only thing I’ve been dreaming about lol.

I haven’t been practicing much so gonna yolo it

Weird. Same situation but with a noisy miner baby.

Impressed at the adults response though. Running constant surveillance, feeding runs, sounding alarms etc. Like a military operation.

Those ones definitely bully other birds a lot too. They are all over the place screeching. Blackbirds are generally more pleasant and have lovely calls.

Only annoyance with blackbirds is they like to flick the mulch out of the garden beds.

Noisey miners are like rhe ants of the bird world. The social structure they display is very coordinated.
