$44 Mil is nothing to him. He could buy a yacht worth more if he felt like it and give it away for free and he wouldn’t even notice money.

You keep saying that and it's just wrong. He borrowed some of it, so losing it all would hurt. Along with his CEO payment legal issue.

Remember when you said the judgements against Alex Jones were nothing to him? Now he's filing for bankruptcy.

No, I said he’ll file for bankruptcy and do the podcast circuit for a bit and he’ll be fine in the end.

Also, if 1/4 of Musks wealth is $44 Billion, I think he’ll be ok with the other 3/4 of it. I mean if I had $1 Billion dollars I reckon I’d be pretty comfortable. That is so much money it’s hard to fathom. **** I’d be more than happy with $100M.

That's not what you said after the first judgement.

Anyway, no biggie but the point is that I think you're also misjudging Musk's ability to take such a big financial hit (if Twitter fails).

It’s odd tbh. It’s like they take it personally.
Its just us, people. Generally. Once you have committed, and you have gone down a path of BELIFE its very hard to see things outside of your confirmation bias. I mean I know my own struggles and I think I've been blessed without having to grow up in this environment with tailored media constantly re-affirming your world view without challenge.

I will say it is amusing though, there is an element of wonder when I look up some kind of well known intelligent and respected mind, only to find out that they are a one sided political beast - hardly even stopping to realise that both sides have just as and many good and bad ideas, good and bad people, and make good and bad decisions, and yet somehow this one side is ALWAYS right, better, and the others are ALWAYS terrible, wrong, and that bad things that happen here are because of media and wont be mentioned by them in passing, yet bad things that happen on the other side are to be shouted down as atrocities akin to nazi germany.

I look at these, smart, well educated, successful people, and just thing to myself don't they realise how straight up counter to how god damn intelligent they are? And I always think, well no they don't because THEY BELIVE IT. They ****ing believe that one side is forever better than the other.

I doubt that measure of his net wealth is true, given liabilities (actual and pending).

Well I still think he’s got enough money to not worry about losing 1/4 of it. Like 1 billion is a crazy amount of money, tens of billions, is crazy. He’s probably got what? At least $10 Billion liquid. That’s so much money it’s actually ridiculous.

I agree with this. A billion dollars is ridiculous money. One million dollars one thousand times.

But your next bit sort of proves what I'm saying - if he has about $10 billion of liquidity (probably around the mark), he's in a world of hurt if he loses an asset worth $44 billion.

I saw this and waited to see if anything came up in here

That's religious extremism.

And to be fair there's always been an association between Fascism (with a capital F) and the most extreme elements of the Catholic Church.

But Portugal from the 30s to the 70s had a Fascist dictatorship, it was a colonialist state but less racist than the rest of the European powers and certainly not concerned with racial purity. It was authoritarian but not militaristic except to keep its colonies, which it considered part of its nation.

If we treated the nation as a corporation and paid everyone a dividend on the GFP we wouldn't need the dole or a UBI and could provide meaningful lives for people without them having to work as wage slaves. They could do other things that bring benefit to the nation, we need more volunteer workers for example. But that idea is heavily influenced by Fascist economic policies (not necessarily fascist ones tho.)

Reducing this discussion to "that's fascism" when there have been elements of the US federal state (and states) that are fascist in practice and have been since the USSR was still around, creating tension with the US' democratic, freedom loving elements as well. What we saw with █████ was the same dynamic but we aren't used to seeing that element with any credibility since the 60s. Someone wrote an essay or a book about it in the 50s, it was called The Paranoid Style in American Politics.

This is a stupid arguement over semantics. Funky and Chad and certainly DR are all opposed to authoritarianism and to bigotry

Sorry, I meant insofar as it's a notable global event that certainly affects more people than some back and forth s between Twitter execs.

I had to go back and check because I knew that wasnt right. The following is exactly what I wrote. I put the post in there from Ferbs because my response to that is what I think you were alluding to, but I remembered it right.

Could be the end of Alex Jones. A Connecticut court rules Alex Jones owes Sandy Hook victims over $1 billion.

Yep and make his money back in a few years on the back of people who believe its a NWO plot to shut him down.

Yeah he’ll be ok. They’re already defending him and comparing his fine to what the victims of Epstein got and that OJ payed the families of the people he killed $33M.

He’ll probably declare bankruptcy, do the podcast circuit for a couple of years and then start up something new. He won’t be starting from scratch unlike people that are actually broke.

Fascism. They’re telling us they’re fascists.

Italian politics is crazy.

The far right is growing in popularity right across Europe. I think the theory is that it really started moving because of the fear of Islam.

You‘d think Europeans would be more worried about what happens when the far right get in power than anyone.

Far out, is there anything that goes on without the Saudi’s?
Not really. The big question is what did Kushner give them in return for $2 billion after he left the White House.

People want to focus on Hunter Biden while ignoring the actually massive story right under the noses.

if you had to guess, what do you think he gave them?

I legitimately think it's connected to the missing Classified documents from Mar-a-Lago.
