Oh man, if only Hitchens was alive for the podcast era.

I looked up his Wikipedia page the other day funnily enough and because he was so scathing of the Democrats and especially Bill & Hillary Clinton he was labeled a right winger.

Christopher Hitchens getting labeled a right winger is ******* bonkers.

Shame he got sucked into the Iraq war but he’s a legend.

wasn't at all a stretch to call him a right-winger, he was a neocon at the end of his life.

Alledged human trafficking.

Jesus Christ. I didn’t see that coming. I had never heard of him, somewhat ironically before he got cancelled.

I knew that he treated women like shit but I didn’t know he was allegedly involved in that.

that was actually been rumoured when he first surfaced this year, thank god he is being investigated for it
I don't know the bloke but a quick read up and he looks like a complete piece of garbage. Hopefully he gets his right whack if these allegations are true. Zero tolerance for what he is accused of doing.

He told me he is keeping his sheep[emoji7] BUT this bitch told me he wouldn’t get goats cause he doesn’t want more animals because I told him they’ll eat his spiky bushes and stuff but today he is telling me he wants one lol

How many spiky bushes does he have?

Challenge is due to our custody of our kids, we only see each other once a fortnight. Whilst we have constant phone communication, I am finding it frustrating that we can't see each other more often.

Given we also live on the opposite sides of Brisbane and our kids go to their various schools, we will not be living together for at least another 9 years.

Hoping anyone can give me some advice on how I can make this work (especially if you have been through a similar situation).

Thanks

Well, you know it's love and meant to be if you can make it work. I wouldn't knowingly date a northern suburbs person in Melbourne, it's not a snob thing, I have family that live there, it is just an insane commute but if you met someone and you think they are the one then you just have to pony up and make it work.

When I started reading it I thought you would be from different states and that would be a nightmare with custody, but I don't think there should be long-term issues given you live in the same city. If you get to the point it works out you can eventually move in together and then those issues wont exist. You just have to figure out if this person is the one, or not.

I guess the first lesson of love, if it's worth it then you will have to make sacrifices/compromises to make it work. You would have to sit down with her and look at your schedule, I am sure you could make it a 2-3 times a week thing even if some of the events are getting a coffee, like meeting before work. It is going to suck and you will have to make a bigger effort, like getting up really early to give yourself plenty of time but if you don't make it a priority it will go at a snail's pace.

You can probably over time move timetables around so you have more opportunity to spend more time together. I'd write down a schedule of what are you time constraints, for my work I used to have to account for 6 minute blocks for billing purposes so everything in my life I looked through that lense, which took me a long time to get over that mental trauma... but it does have some organisational uses, especially given I am a colossal procrastinator at heart.

You will probably find you can move things around to give you more time. It is something you can do over time, but how long is the commute between your two places that you can't see eachother at least once on the weekend initially? I thought Brisbane was fairly easy to get around.

Hey guys, I posted this on the main board, but given I consider you guys family (even though I don't post much and have never met any of you, hoping for your insights. Cheers BF99.

Hi all, hoping I can get some relationship advice off you guys.

I am 43 male and live in Brisbane. I separated from my wife 2 and half years ago and we got divorced in March of this year. I have two kids (10 and 9) and have 50/50 custody with the mother. We are not amiable and only communicate in regards to the kids.

I have recently started dating an old friend of mine who I met 30 years ago. I was good mates with her brother growing up but he passed away about 15 years ago.

She also went through a messy divorce. She has two kids (a 14 year old boy and a 12 year old girl). Her ex has the boy once a week, but the daughter refuses to spend time with the dad (nothing sinister, he is just a sh**ty dad). So she has custody of her daughter full time.

I am finding her to be amazing, we speak on the phone every night for hours, and can seriously see us spending the rest of our lives together.

Mate try not to overthink it. Just enjoy it for what it is. Hopefully you’ll work out a way to see each other more often but the upside is, the longing will make your time together even better.
Work out one day a week or fortnight, put the kids in the car and go and have dinner somewhere. Doesn’t need to be flash, just a midweek adventure.
Anyway, just go with the flow. If it’s right, it won’t feel difficult.

Mate I remember one time up North I came out of the pub and there was this huge python, it must have been 6~9 meters long. The thing was just chilling there soaking up the heat from the asphalt. I went up to it and started filming it with my Sony Ericsson, the ****ed up thing is that i scared it so it went up into a near by 4x4.

I went around to try and find the owner but no one gave a shit. They all just thought it was funny and the owner of the the 4 wheeler will find out when it starts to smell.

This would have been me if I was the owner of the vehicle…
