Apart from some "unnamed Russian intelligence officers" (lol) nobody major was convicted for actual election interference, because there was none.

There's no doubt the Trump team would have liked there to have been, and Hilary was happy to get into bed with all kinds of bodgy spooks and feed the narrative that Putin wanted Trump to win when she should have just done boring normal campaigning in Wisconsin.

You're correct! A few key convictions weren't for "actual election interference". But as just one example, Donald Trump's former campaign chair Paul Manafort was charged and convicted for things like;

• engaging in a conspiracy against the United States
• engaging in a conspiracy to launder money
• failing to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts
• acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign principal
• making false and misleading statements in documents filed and submitted under the Foreign Agents Registration Act
• making false statements to the FBI

All of that had to do with his Russian dealings. And now he's serving 7 and a half years in jail. All of this happened while he was literally running Trump's campaign.

So, yeah... none of it was "actual election interference". But to imply nothing happened and there was no Russian interference? Cmonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

"Russian dealings" are not the same as trying to fix the 2016 Presidential election.

For example Manafort's stuff was largely for his dealings in inter war Ukraine.

Which is a DEEPLY interesting period of time involving a great deal of subterfuge and dodginess.

But to say Manafort was convicted for trying to interfere in the 2016 election is just plain wrong.

I find it difficult to discuss these things with you as you have a full bore Team USA v Them Evil Russkies mindset, and I promised the mods I wouldn't get into personal slanging matches.

There's hardcore election interference going on in the US though, and it is being done by Americans.

The Russian election interfence boogieman was largely dreamed up prior to the election by Clinton and her MI6 mate who wrote the "dossier" and then after the election by shellshocked Dems and their media outriders who needed a way to explain how Hillary had lost the unloseable election to the unelectable buffoon.

I'm the first to admit I know very little about this but some quick digging shows that all of that did not happen when he was "literally running Trumps campaign". The FBI investigation started in 2014 well before he hooked up with Trump. And most of what he got done for was for his dealings in Ukraine, which happened before Trump announced he was running.

You seem to be making stuff up to justify your argument. Correct me if I'm wrong.
