It seems like a lifetime ago now, but don't forget that Obama 'went against the grain'.

Everyone assumed Hillary would be the nominee for 2008 and the DNC was leveraged accordingly. But Obama's campaign was a positive insurgency and he won the right way with an inclusive message.

Only till he got elected.

Then he appointed the likes of Mark Patterson, Larry Summers, Herbert Allison and Adam Stroch to deal with the fallout from the financial crisis, started using killer robots on Pakistani kids and let Hillary blow the crap out a whole bunch of sovereign ME nations.

I got suckered into that campaign too, I thought Obama was going to be the one to bring actual change to America and the rest of the world.
He gave me hope.

Boy was I wrong.

That really was the last and greatest betrayal of the last and greatest of human dreams.

That was the Jonas brothers. The disgusting thing about that was that while he was doing that a US drone attack actually mained a 8 or 10 year old kid and left him in hospital with burns and missing limbs. At literally the same time he was threatening a minor with a drone attack one of his drones was blowing up a kid in Pakistan.

That's why he should be forever known as the O'bomber.

LOL, still a Senator and crucially had brand recognition in the Washington circles where it mattered post his 2004 speech and then his and Michelle's relentless networking.

The "came from nowhere" stuff was key to his insurgency against Clinton, the ultimate insider, but well overblown.

To me the most important thing about Obama is he was the first modern candidate - he and his team used the internet properly etc.

He also had the backing of Rahm Emmanuel and the Chicago outfit. LOL.
