Stegosaurus to T-Rex = 80 million years
T-Rex to people = about 65 million years

So, there is some chance your visitors great, great, great (you get the idea - keep going) grand parents lived at the same time as T-rex. Clearly successfully not to get stomped on or eaten in all that time. Hardy little buggers - one of the great surviving species on the planet. edit - largely unchanged in all that time. I think that's pretty cool.
