I wish there was an audiobook. I just tried to look for it on Audible and nothing came up. Is it new?

Nah, I bought it maybe 3/4 yrs ago. The author is an academic from Sydney Uni (?) from memory. Doubt it ever got an audio release.

Just tapping into your family history path ferball, one of the best parts of my job is talking to folk and listening to their stories. Years ago I was talking to this fella Leon Kawecki. He is no longer with us but when I 1st met him he was early 80's and off to read books for the "old people". He was about 5ft, collar, tie and waistcoat, told me he spoke English, Polish, German, French and Flemish. Anyway, he lived in a Polish sector in Dortmund and at the start of WW2 most in his neighbourhood fled, but he got cornered in a bakery and ordered to bake bread for the German soldiers. So he did that for the whole war. Ripping fella. And a bloke still with us in Rye, his dad had twin brothers that were both nearly 6ft, so they were both designated to the SS and sent off to Russia, never to return. His dad though was a bit shorter and sent to the U Boats. They got sunk by some US boat and he ended up as a POW in the UK. Him and his mate befriended and Irishman who helped them escape to Ireland - where their new Irish pal grassed them up for the reward and they were both then sent to Scotland for the remainder of the war.

Anyway, I have some very early, 1837 early Prussian settlers, some Irish, Spanish and East End gangsters to work my way through. The same as everyone else, just different :)

What are these? Never heard of these things… actually, NO do not tell me. I do not need any biscuits, those delicious succulent biscuit meals
You'll be robbing people to pay for this addiction.

Dutton; " Boycott Wollies ! Shop at Aldi " !

( cough, cough,.....ahem....WWI, WWII )

Our international image of being laid back is so wrong.

The indigenous people of Australia aren’t happy about the date because of the history behind it so want it changed.

The stereotype Aussie reaction to changing the date would be - “yeah whatever campaigner, as long as I get the day off.”

Australia is literally helping Israel keep their economy afloat so they can continue their genocide by working with the Yanks to attack Yemen, but people are getting upset about woollies not doing Australia Day. Ffs.

I am a long time Richard Marx fan. Have seen him in concert every time he has been to Australia since 1988. Never did I think he would get a mention on BF. This place never ceases to amaze with its many and varying topics.
good to hear people listen to Richard Marx songs.
