Yeah, so this is actually emblematic of a worldwide phenomenon in the Spotify era.
There's a bloke called Will Page, former chief economist of Spotify, who points out that, despite what you think algorithms would do - push the most popular stuff to be even more popular - it has made popular music increasingly regional. The biggest acts in Italy are now Italians singing in Italian. The biggest acts in Poland are Polish singing in Polish (rapping in Polish apparently). The biggest acts in Germany are, well, you get the drift.
So if Taylor Swift is popular with one demographic, well, that's just kinda how music is these days.
