just upgraded the office PC, and thought i had deleted all the recent farm records, bit of a sinking feeling for a few moments, turns out i deleted a partition that had some backed up movies on it, better yet i was able to salvage the partition,

little thinkcenter is about 10 times faster, 20 times smaller and quieter. using ssh to copy all the music over now.

Being a South Aussie born-and-bred person but now raising Melbourne born-and-bred children is a bloody challenge.

My kids keep using weird terminology like "early mark" instead of "early minute". Or "grey lead" instead of "lead pencil". Or "potato cake" instead of "potato fritter". And you guys pronounce the word "graph" as "graff" which is just... wrong.

I'm going to start having my daughters recite the following empirically correct sentence before bed each night, I reckon;

Children, use your lead pencils to draw on your graph paper, and then you can have an early minute to go to the fish and chip shop and get yourself a potato fritter before you go home and have a parmi for dinner.

Where do you keep your barrels ?

Early mark isn't Victorian though - not saying it hasn't dripped down here like so much other poison from NSW and Queensland though.

But I remember when Morrison used it in 2020 when the big nationwide lockdown ended and going WTF is this buffoon on about.

Are your kids excited for LAY-go Masters coming back on this year?

How much $tax you think Taylah be paying before she departs our shores ?
International touring acts are subject to a withholding tax on their earnings in Australia. Ultimately she's taxed on her earnings from these shows in the US, but we do get a cut.

Also, depending on the deal she has with her promoter, it's possible she'll get a flat fee (or maybe a fee plus an extra percentage once the sales go over a certain threshold) so it's the promoter that makes a decent amount of money and pays the tax here.

That being said, the promoter is Live Nation Australia, who probably pay a decent royalty back to the parent company in the US, which decreases their taxable income here.

The US is not a safe place for LGBTQIA+ people.

We should boycott it now imo - its cultural institutions and sporting competitions especially, like happened to apartheid South Africa.

Good on the SMH. It's an important pivot point.

**** the jacks, nique la police, do mai an hai, say it how you want.

They aren't welcome among people who don't feel safe around them

Guys I am so nervous lol I have my drive test on Thursday
Remember, if driving in Perth:

  • Picking a lane? Right is might, left lane is for chimps
  • That stick on the side of the steering wheel should only be applied if you are a coward
  • Drive 20 kms under the speed limit unless you are being overtaken on a small overtaking lane, if that is the case speed up as fast as possible
  • Merge is by how fast you can go before your car is overtaken, don't care about anyone but getting as high up as you can
  • Roundabouts? Oh the "any possible situation goes circle thing"
  • Orange Light = Go Faster
  • Aggressively yell out your car at anyone who makes an honest mistake, even L plates
  • Trucks have the stopping power you have regularly, so feel free to overtake then slam brakes on just in front
  • Blind Spots are just that, you are blind, so assume every other car can telepathically understand your movements
  • Country/Interstate Plates? Assume they know every inch of the city and don't need room
  • Drive 5cms away from the car in front, regardless of speed, conditions or stopping power
  • Need to turn off at the next exit, wait and cross three or more lanes of traffic at the absolute last possible instance, people behind? Who cares?!
  • 4wd or feck off... no other vehicle is required... even if your idea of driving 4wd consists of driving into puddles... bigger is better
Do that, and you'll very quickly have a WA Drivers License in Perth
