Teffy will be happy to read this and you should welcome him back to the forumAll jokes aside ferball I don't really judge people solely for having drug problems. Addiction is a real disease and it's worth treating these people with compassion and understanding.
However, in the case of RFK it's not the heroin addiction that's the issue. It's the hypocrisy.
the Irish have a good example of how a president does work though, do agree with elements there though… always believe forcing everyone to do it helps tooI used to be an avid republican in my youth, but the more the US goes off the rails, the more I’m conceding that a government built around constitutional monarchy is probably preferable to this American-style monstrosity.
Imagine thinking that it’s a great idea to give political figures the power to dismiss criminal sentencing. Lol. Rookie constitution right there.
Yeah mandatory voting is great. Even if you opt to draw a dick on the ballot, its better than paying politicians to spend a third of their time in office campaigning for re-election.the Irish have a good example of how a president does work though, do agree with elements there though… always believe forcing everyone to do it helps too

In a similar vein, let's snipe Biden giving a pardon to his son, then argue that █████ should escape all consequences of his many crimes on a technicality. Sure, becoming president is a large technicality, but it doesn't mean you should just ignore what he's been found guilty of. And also ignoring the large number of cynical (i.e. paid for) pardons that █████ granted on his way out last time.
Or if you are comfortable to ignore all of this (and you seem to be), why snipe the other guy for doing something that is absolutely insignificant against the volume of similarly unacceptable behaviour that you've ignored?

Does he not fit the definition of 'having a drug' problem?Addiction is a disease.
The manufacturers and dealers of hard drugs can GAGF though. Absolute scum.
You can't cherry pick when extending courteousness to others.
You clearly don't support prisoners getting reformed. You absolutely can lol.
You clearly don't support prisoners getting reformed.
People that voted for █████ got lumped in with those characteristics.LOL.
I love how you twist the narrative to suit your argument.
Any people who make a mistake, do their time, acknowledge their faults, and try and be a better person are worthy of a second chance.
But the key part of that is trying to be a better person.
If you come out the other side of situation like we're discussing, and you're still a racist, bigoted, closed-minded arseh*le... yeah, nah, I'm not going to waste my time giving you any kind of "support".
Pretty much the same, the president there is more a symbolic head of state while the Dail (Parliament) runs the countryYeah mandatory voting is great. Even if you opt to draw a dick on the ballot, its better than paying politicians to spend a third of their time in office campaigning for re-election.
Is there much difference between a GG and an Irish president, aside from how one ostensibly represents the Crown?
I'm no expert in Irish government, but I assumed the Taoiseach has basically the same powers as an Aussie PM?
People that voted for █████ got lumped in with those characteristics.
Teffy deserves a 2nd chance and you don't wanna give him one.
Does that reddit brain of yours not have a heart?
What if he came up to you at a North game and wanted to shake your hand.....what would you do?
Yeah I know...so many chances, so many accounts....I'm just messin with Chad.Teffy actually did get the deserved 2nd chance. And 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th chances, from memory. Where do you expect the mods to draw the line of perma-ban meaning perma-ban?
He'd be stubborn with his favourites but his general footy analysis was ok at best. Not that I'm suggesting mine is any better or worse than his but there's several other posters that know what they're posting about when it comes to footy than him.FWIW, I'd also be OK with him coming back to BF, because his footy analysis was always pretty high quality (not so much the other stuff, though).
I'm not defending █████ and I assume his supporters don't give a shit about this stuff. It's around the edges rubbish. He's not as corrupt as his predecessor but he may surpass him over the next four years.Alrighty then, instead of hypotheticals how about a real one?
█████ pardoned the father of his daughters husband, and then appointed him the ambassador to an important nuclear-power.
So much for "no more DEI, only merit!", hey.
Biden has done something he publicly said he wouldnt do.In a similar vein, let's snipe Biden giving a pardon to his son, then argue that █████ should escape all consequences of his many crimes on a technicality. I don't think DesertRoo is arguing what should or shouldn't happen but what will as per legal documents and press releases by the DOJ/Jack Smith.
Hunter Bidens behaviour is insignificant? That's an odd take.
I'm a fiscal conservative and very anti war and anti interventionist foreign policy. I don't care for █████ but I despise what the Democrat party has become. I also despise the Republican party.Yeah, a politician lied. It's shit, although many (most) █████ supporters don't think twice about their guy's thousands (literally) of lies. Indeed, they often deny them.
Anyway, it was the reliance on a technicality to ignore the substantial nature of █████'s crimes that I was highlighting.
You missed the point if you think I said Hunter's behaviour was insignificant. I was referring to the relative volume of crime forgiveness. Do you think the pardon of crimes of one drug-addled scumbag is the equivalent of the numerous (173) pardons of scumbags (drag-addled or not) including Flynn, Stone, Bannon, Kushner senior, Manafort, D'souza, etc. etc? If you do, that would be more fitting of the 'odd take' description.

Which of Trumps crimes are substantial? The Democrats changed the law to go after █████ which isn't a good look. They seem garbage to the me and full of hypocrisy. Conduct not befitting of an idealistic view of how a presidential candidate should act for sure but largely civil misdemenours.
It's not like he has committed war crimes and aided and abetted genocide like many other presidents. I'm not a lawyer by trade but I can tell you the Maro Lago case is absolute horseshit. Anyone with a background in property or finance will tell you that. Banks rely on third party valuers and their insurance policies to value property. They don't rely on the owners estimate of value.
On the topic of pardons, I'm not going to defend Trumps history of pardons, not a great look and they should be reserved for the likes of Assange and Manning. If the media and FBI hadn't lied about his laptop, Russia disinfo, etc for the last 5 years then it wouldn't be a big deal for sleepy Joe to pardon his son. Out of personal interest I looked up the history of pardons for the last 5 or so presidents. Not that it gives █████ leeway at all but there are some absolute shockers!
