Snowden is a Russian asset and a traitor imo.

I don't know if he was always a Russian asset, but his actions since he went on the run are basically everything a blown Russian asset would do.

I doubt it. He went hard after Assange.

It is interesting that Snowden, who is clearly Russian-allied, is in line for a Trump pardon.

Yet Assange, who definitely helped Russia get the result they sought in 2016 but isn't Russian-allied, is still persona-non-grata.

Why would the president of Ukraine want to go to America to go on JRE when Ukraine is being invaded by Russia?

I believe the implication is that he was willing to record something on his recent visit to the United States, or host Joe in Ukraine like it looks like Lex Friedman is about to do.

Could’ve been a Harris type situation where he wanted control and editing.

Lex has been wanting to do it for ages. He’s half Ukrainian half Russian.

Edit- he as in Zelenskeyy

I haven't seen any evidence of this. If it exists please share it. The surveillance he uncovered was unlawful and a bunch of intelligence leaders were caught lying about it.

It took Snowden 7 years to get citizenship and 10 years to get a passport in Russia. He was trying to get to Ecuador when the US cancelled his passport. He met the press in Hong Kong. If he was a Russian asset then it would have made more sense to hold those meetings in Russia. He waited 40 days to get temporary asylum in Russia while he made asylum requests with several countries, notably France, which was rejected. If he was a Russian asset, he wasn't a good one. The horrific things he exposed haven't changed anything and he went the long way round to get to Russia. Spending one month in Hong Kong for instance when he could have boarded a flight immediately after meeting the press. Doesn't stack up to me.

There is no whistleblower protection in the US and both the media and politicians do a good job of convincing the public that whistleblowers are traitors and you should ignore the horrendous things the government are doing. Manufacturing consent. They use a war time act to target people they don't like with zero transparency. Imagine how they can influence the media that cover it...

I agree but he has spoken a fair bit of how badly he was advised in his first administration. This could just be cover for his bad decisions. Guess it comes down to whether he does what he says he is going to do.

That's because wikileaks is neutral, not a Russian asset.

I'm a bit 50/50 on this.

Russia was his last resort as far as escaping the US security state goes.

I'd have thought a Russian asset would have gone straight to Russia.

Buit at the same time we don't know what other info he released privately.

This is worth repeating.

Russia and China are fairly friendly, but yeah going to Hong Kong before going to Russia does murky the waters a little bit.

No evidence. Just my opinion.

Agree on the whistleblower situation. They’re treated pretty bad here too… remember how the ASIO bloke that outed Alexander Downer for spying on East Timor for financial gain for oil company he ended up going to work for was treated?

France is the other big one, no confidence motion being put in place to oust Macrons man.
France is an odd one. Far right most popular party, far left second most. President ignores them and picks Barnier whose centre right. Took about a week for Barnier to fall out with everyone.

Macron should've stepped aside when the election happened.
At that point the people have spoken, what was his end goal a 6th republic?
