Then he'd post stuff about how the war was going to hang shit on people spreading propaganda and to provide an other pov. You people act as if 2022 or even Maidan happened out of nowhere without context. Putin might be ****ed but that doesn't mean all that other shit with the US interfering for years didn't happen and didn't turn a peaceful, potentially profitable relationship with Europe into this war. This has always been about preventing Putin building a mutually beneficial, profitable relationship with Europe by supplying them gas.

It suits US interests to prevent Eurasia from developing closer ties. That was the basis of his criticism of the situation. Its not just "Russian propaganda" its also true. The fact that for the majority of the last 10 years the people leading the charge against Putin were the people inspire the likes of Brenton Tarrant should give you reason to reflect on whats going on. Its not just Russian propaganda either.

The reason Russia can use this propaganda is because there's truth in it.

Putin can say "but the Nazis" cos there are Nazis. He's only in Eastern Ukraine cos he wants to control those resources and doesn't want the Western Oligarchy (of which the campaigners backing Trump are just a faction) controlling them but we have given him a great cover for that (and without the propaganda its a good enough reason anyway for most of the developing world because the IMF and western interests have screwed them all for decades centuries.)

If you or your homophobic, racist mates in those other threads ever acknowledged that then we could have had a discussion about what is right, what is wrong and how much support should we give Ukraine and why but all we ever got was the same sort of abuse you lot heaped on MAGA loons and the people you call "COVID Cookers".

You'd constantly badger SLF for simping to someone he views as a murderous thug (when all he was doing was pointing out what is happening) and don't think you're carrying out a more sophisticated form of abuse and doing it simply cos you disagree with him?

He was posting his stuff here, where he could to provide a counterpoint to the constant ramping up of Ukrainian success while ignoring Russian success and Ukrainian failures, the other threads were one sided propaganda and conveyed a false impression of how this war was unfolding. Why should he provide both sides of an argument when the other side wasn't prepared to do the same thing?

He rallied against the sanctions imposed on Russia and frequently reposted Russian propaganda about how strong the Russian economy was despite the "western sanctions". He defended Putin repeatedly, and then would occasionally throwout a "oh but he's a tyrant" as if that little statement would provide him cover for all the enthusiastic cheerleading that preceded it - the geopolitical equivalent of absolutely bullying someone but then adding a "no offense" at the end of your rant. He posted combat footage of Russian successes and then attempted to discredit any similar Ukranian footage as fake, propaganda, or akshually a sign of how Russia was winning. At the start of the conflict he literally posted that Russia would control Kyiv "very soon", and then repeatedly denied ever saying this, despite it being there for all to see.

If you and the 'clique' couldn't see what he was doing and why, then that's an issue for you folks to grapple with. Maybe you're being genuine when you say that you have never been pro-Russian, but that doesn't mean that MaddAdam/Simpkin/SLF/Warlord wasn't.
