The phrasing of your question implies Biden didn't attempt to do anything to curtail the atrocities in Gaza. I demonstrated (with evidence linked) this isn't true.

A United States president is not a dictator. The Separation of Powers between the branches of government exist for a very real reason, and Congress being the branch charged with responsibility for arms funding/military supplies/etc means that Biden was stymied.

That was a pissweak, half-hearted attempt for show rather than actually using his power to stop the attacks. The arms supplies are illegal under US law, we discussed this months ago, so the house vote could be legitimately vetoed by Biden and then there should be enough of these so called Pro palestinian Democrats onside to stop the House getting 66.6% of the vote as required to ignore a presidential veto.

He could have also said he would send a peace keeping force to the middle east to protect israel from attack while blowing up any Israeli aircraft or missile launchers used to attack Palestinians.

IE BY using the military he commands to enforce a ceasefire.

You can say it's a 'failure' attributed to his "mental state", but I think you're intelligent enough to know that any younger and more mentally-acute person in the White House would have had the exact same issues with the exact same Republican congress.

The mental state bit is an out for you if you couldn't get your head around the fact that Biden chose not to exert his power in the ways described because it didn't suit his interests.

He thought Palestinian lives weren't worth saving otherwise he would expended more effort saving them. He could have had Netanyahu arrested and sent to the ICC if he wanted. Netanyahu was speaking live to the House that voted to help his genocide after all.

But I'll play your game; today (not months ago, not years ago, but today) Val once again raised Dylan Cooper. He did so by attempting to re-write history about what Cooper was accused of, and then when presented with multiple links/evidence to support the (many, many, many) people who consider Cooper to be a holocaust denying nazi or nazi-apologist, Val doubled down and continued to defend him.

That alone is anti-semitic in my book. And my book is good enough for me.

• attempted to stop and/or slow the arms sales
• hates Netanyahu and considers him a liar
• nominated a Presidential candidate who said it was time for a cease-fire, and that it was time for "the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can exercise their right to freedom, dignity and self-determination.”

Vs the other 'side' who;

• over-ruled Biden's efforts to stop and/or slow the arms sales
• is led by a President who is "best friends" with Netanyahu
• is led by a President who said that there will be "all hell to pay" and that he wants to see Gaza "hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied history of the United States of America" if the hostages aren't released.

etc etc.

You can sit there and play the "oooh but the Democrats love Israel too, and therefore they are just as bad as the Republicans" game all you want. All that says to me is that you're clueless about the politics involved and the reality of the situation.

And importantly, both Scallop and I haven't been defending the Democrats in any sort of blanket way. We simply said that all the main political voices you hear coming out of the US against the genocide in Gaza are from Democrats. Not Republicans.
