I am quite surprised there seems to be unanimous support for increasing the drinking age to 21. I wrongly assumed Australia's laid back drinking and 'let's not take an intellectual seriously' culture would be aghast. Obviously not.
well everyone hates generation y so maybe it's that

That's ******* stupid. Most people drink by the time they're 16 anyway

I haven't seen who is pushing for it or why they are, but I assume it's less to do with stop 18-20yos drinking full stop (which is more or less impossible) and more to do with a) trying to prevent 18-20yos drinking with the sole intent of getting drunk b) getting addicted to drinking with the sole intent of getting drunk every saturday night and c) trying to prevent those wannabee drunks being in city hotspots and really large crowds and what not. (That's not to say parties are not dangerous either, of course.). I don't think a great movement to just stop sweepign drinking is taking place.

MIRIAM HALL: It's early afternoon at a Sydney pub, and a few people are gathered to enjoy a drink.

Alex has been drinking since his early teens, and believes it's a part of growing up.

ALEX: I think beer's one of these things that you never really like as a bloke, but it's forced upon you, and you slowly grow to love it.

holy shit Alex.

I'm giving Justified a whirl at the moment. Not doing much for me, supposedly gets better in the following seasons so we'll see what happens.

Not long until Breaking Bad final episodes, also Dexter but I've just about given up on that show.

Half way through season 2. It is starting to grow, first season though I thought was too cheesy. It was like watching a pisstake 80's cop show. Boyd's dad was the most annoying over actor I've seen for some time. (Don't worry, I shit myself with how elitist I get watching shows at times). Just finished the bank robbery episode.

The story of Boyd and Givens is keeping me involved. The background story is much more interesting than the week to week storyline. I hope they do more with it.

I think you're at the tipping point then. I felt the same way and stuck with it and it definitely became entertaining. Found it's groove. Walton Goggins (Boyd) is actually good friends with Timothy Olyphant and that's how he was cast in the show. I really enjoy the Boyd character and then you've got the Raylan character which is pretty much Seth Bullock in the 21st century but more badass.
