Still on work holidays, so decided to go for a walk up to the local supermarket to get a few things. About 20 minutes each way.

Yes, in 42 degree heat- I'm nuts.

Anyway, while walking in said stifling heat, I got caught in the middle of a heavy but very localised downpour. Only lasted around a minute, but was the most odd sensation- being rained on while absolutely roasting at the same time.

I got rained in Brisbane once, when it was about 31 and very humid- but this was something different altogether.

So about 2-3 years ago I had something sorta similar happen. I was going down to the shops, 10 or so minutes away, pretty warm weather, shorts thongs etc. So I do my shopping and on my way back, all of a sudden, an intense storm cell passes by. My clothes are being totally soaked and cause I'm wearing thongs running is kinda risky, but more importantly, a bolt of lightening hits a building about 100 meters away and man it was an insane feeling. The light and the noise and the fear. So I get home and I'm mess cause man I'm thinking I almost died. And I realise I left half my shopping back there. and I needed something urgently so I had to get back before it got discarded or something. So on my way back, I've got my wet weather clothes on because man I don't wanna get soaked again and not be able to run home either. The storm is totally gone. It's just very humid. So I'm being roasted while a) still not completely over the whole lightening bolt thing and b) feeling like an idiot for forgetting my shopping and wearing these ugly uncomfortable clothes in this warm sunlight

and i'm also now completely terrified of lightening

So speaking of lightning strikes, I was filming an impressive electrical storm in March 2010 while at work in Perth. Have a look at this, you need the sound up but use headphones if you are at work (explicit language). HINT: Keep an eye on the white light post on the right of the video.

Hey guys, I've just started writing a couple of articles, beginning with offseason reviews of teams. I focused on moves made and players drafted only, and I've just finished Essendon.

Let me know what you think! Link: http://www.unambitiousus.com/sports/your-guide-to-the-2013-afl-offseason-essendon-fremantle/

Overall it seems ok.

One major point worth noting though, is you focus a bit on Essendon possibly regretting the Crameri trade.

How so?

Our hand was forced. He was going to walk into the PSD, so it is hardly our decision to rue.

Thanks for the feedback, mate. I guess I was saying it from the perspective of missing his play. But when you take into account that he was always going to leave, they did a good job to get a pick in return.

Apparently everyone is meant to be in on TLC in-jokes.

In jokes and dismissiveness are the only appropriate ways to respond to valid criticism.
