i like using food stuffs as insults

hes just a cabbage

such a noodle

nah hes a peanut

bit of a pillock (that better be the fish)

whos this banana?

what a spud.

As others will testify I am fond of "you dill", and also there's something to be said for "you donut"

Outside of the culinary delights I am also very fond of TTOI's "he's a ****ing knitted scarf"

may parents were due over this week to stay a couple of nights...

they were going to come over on friday, but we were both to be out so i just said let yourselves in, we will be there at some point later.

I get home on Friday, no car..hmm must not have gotten here yet.

but i felt a vibe, like they had been...the bins were particualy stright, like the father of an ocd had been about...

I have been watching a bit of colombo lately so i thought id compile evidence.

i walk in, quite house, nobody in... no luggage anywhere.. ok maybe they are really not here yet.

into the kitchen, look in the sink.. 11 coffee cups in the sink, with nescafe residue.. ok.. 11 cups, id reckon thats maybe 2 hours wirth of shitty coffees for them - thats evidence, but not irrefutable - maybe emma had friends over.

into the lounge, folded up herald sun on the dining table.. ok, thats two strong points of evidence.

to the lounge, herald sun TV guide folded open on today on the arm... thats three, this is a lock now, they have been.

turn the TV on.. nearly die, its on volume 48 - ABC news 24. Thats it, 100% beyond no doubt, parents have been in ther house.

they came back later, and dad was in huge form... while watching david attenbourgh he was explaining to me how the giant squid works... "it uses its ink to cloud up the...doover"

then mum says later.. "ahh dying wont be so b ad, be just like having a big ni ni"

its nice having them over though :)

We have a dodgy corner out back of our place, good for nothing, just ends up with 6ft high weeds and junk. Ive set myself a task, to utilise it by building a Cubby...But the catch is I'm only spending $50.

It's been tough but fun, ive been collecting all old twisted gnarly bits of timber I can find , under the house, here and there, searching building sites for scrap. Nothing is square, no Teo timbers are alike, it's a real Hodge podge.. . But it's my Hodge podge!

So I'm a week into project, I spent my first $20 today on 10 fence palings for the walls. I kid you not I broke two hammers in the process and had to use a meat tenderiser to nail in pieces... But it's happening.

I'm proud.

Here is progress as of today

Good stuff!

Next time you're in Bunnings you should go to the trade section and ask what they do with their offcuts.

I needed a couple of bits of 4x2 about 6 and 10 inches long respectively to put my rain gauge up on the outside of my shed (needed to get it higher than the roof) and I grabbed a couple of foot+ long bits for free. There were plenty of other scraps in there. Could pay to do the rounds as you drive sround, Bunnings one day, Home the next, Mitre 10 another time
