always wanted to know why we have to have the shades up for take off and landing in a place, and why the cabin lights are dimmed - now I know, thanks to click bait..

shades are up so we and staff can see outside if anything is wrong on the ground or on the wings that may endanger us
lights are dimmed on the night flight to supposedly allow our eyes to adjust incase we need to evacuate quickly

hmm

I don't know what it is but when I'm watching Essendon play this year I've found myself caring less every round. That's not to say I don't love going to the footy or having a good argument (and sometimes terrible ones) on here. I still want us to win and all but honestly I'm not fussed whether or not we make finals, if we win one of them or anything. I honestly care more about my club football and seeing all my mates win a flag there.

The realisation that it's just footy?
Nah, I've always held that perspective. More like the realisation that a premiership that I've worked hard for and my mates have worked hard for means more than a premiership for a team I support does.

Rifling through nightly news themes for a stupid work thing, and reminding myself that John Williams composed the theme that 7 Nightly News uses

I mean, it's not as though he composed 90% of the memorable film themes too...

It's a good record to have

The price of being mother of the year

I desperately wanted to go to the footy tomorrow to cheer on our boys. Fate was so kind and I was offered 4 tickets to the Medallion Club.

Alas my son is playing a final at 3pm tomorrow. Whilst you folks will be cheering Jobe, James Kelly and the rest I'll be standing on the sidelines of an U17 final

I'm grateful that my son wants me there and I didn't hesitate to say no when I was offered the Medallion Club tickets but still ....

haha! I love my children so much and would do anything for them but occasionally I hate them with such a burning passion it makes my head spin

Especially as I expect my son's team to be blown away by the opposition.

haha- i'm still dealing with small children and their imagination - like having to pretend to be a ****ing gorilla in the zoo. Don't get me wrong here- i do an amazing gorilla but it hurts my knees on the floorboards.

At least gorillas can watch the Bombers tomorrow

Do you turn your wrists inwards to point your hands at your body? Silverback style?
My kids freak the **** out when I jump up on the couch and sniff their hair then pretend to eat the lice out of it.
