I like tofu. There's also some very edible vegie burger patties at the supermarket.

Yeah I've tried most of them. Some are much better than others, though none are as terrible as a lot of people assume.
Though I still think it's hard to beat a good falafel (the original vege burger that has been around for centuries)

Does anyone here get/have strong premonitions? almost linked in with deja vu?

I've had a couple of really strong ones in my life - I just want to know how common it is amongst people

or maybe you just have to be in tune to it?

anyhow the first one, was a few years back - I was sitting on the couch and my girl was running about the house, she headed for the hallway I had this image appear in my head of her tripping and hitting the wall head first - it hit me very strong like a bolt of adrenaline... so much so I shot straight out of my chair, as I got to the hall, bang, she tripped fell and hit her face... I was a little weirded out - maybe put it down to parental instinct, and a coincidence, maybe I saw her running and the odds were it was going to happen anyway - so I shelved it.

I had another one a little before that, I was playing footy, it was in a final at Riddell, it was deep into the last quarter and we were a couple of goals down. The ball was streaming up the middle to our goal square - about to be kicked from around 60m out - to a pack at the top of the square.

I was up around the 50 with my man after having a lead ignored. Just before it was kicked - I had this weird premonition... I almost saw it happen in my head - the ball got kicked, came off hands at the back of the pack and I met it and kicked it off the ground for a goal - so in the split second that I saw this happen I start running toward the pack as the ball was kicked.... a weirder moment I have never had - it was actually the same scene I had just seen.. like a de javu! I followed the ball in with the flight but instead of going front and center I tailed round the back - sure enough the ball came off hands and I soccered it it through.. OMG I went NUTS! I was jumping about and yelling - teammates were a bit weirded out, cause i don't usually show much emotion, when I kick a goal I just go back to my mark, but I was going crazy... they were like settle down man, it wasn't that good - I said I JUST SAW THAT HAPPEN, IT, IT..I bah never mind.. I knew it wasn't the time..

but then I tried to rationalize it myself - maybe I just visualized what I wanted to happen, and made it happen? like a ski jumper or hurdler visualizing what they are about to do... but in reality, they can do that, the only person involved in their visualization is themselves. in my case I had many other factors at play, the kick, the flight of the ball, the pack of players, any amount of variables that had to go right for my visualization to happen - yet it happened.

so I know this is weird, but do people actually have these gifts but they try to rationalize them way because they don't want to understand them - or don't believe it can be true?

sorry I know, weird topic strand.

but ever since i've tried to be in tune with them - its not like you can say ok.. its time to have one - and go down sportsbet to cash in.. its not like that, just have to be open and receptive to any moment that the thought may arise

anyone have anything like this?

I remember hearing of a case where a woman was sitting on a plane that was about to taxi towards takeoff and she suddenly got a feeling something was wrong with it.

She freaked out, made a scene and then, they checked it. Turned out there was a huge issue that would have caused engine failure had it flown.

I couldn't tell you when or where it was though. Maybe it's a touch apocryphal.

I felt a touch silly posting tbh - didn't know how it would be received...

I might search a few of those.

I reckon there is a fine line between premonition, and psychosomatic, or making something happen... hmm

I've always said the physical world outside its funny, is it real? or is it what your own brain and eyes projects or interprets. I mean take George costanza - he says, its only a lie if you believe it...

say you tell a lie for so long, and tell the story so many times to so many different people - and the story is entrenched in your mind, its first nature - whos to say that its any different to something that did actually happen in the past? they are both just moments stored away in the recesses of your mind..

so in saying that - a lot of successful people say thay visualize positive thoughts or positive outcomes to every situation they are about to face that day - and sure enough, that's why they are successful people.

think the worst... you know what? you'll probably get it. But did you make it happen, or was it already going to happen?

*twilightzone music*

anyhow, I reckon sometimes our own instinct can play into the hands - when you sense danger - like say you don't trust a driver, and choose not to get in the car, then they go and crash. Its not really a premonition is it, you just worked the odds of probability...

but the footy one - that got me.

Can't watch commercial tv. I've heard nothing but good things about that show though in spite of Andy Maher.

yeh Maher is no good. Has an annoying habit of trying to talk over an applauding audience til hes out of breath.

Molloy is going back to his old late show days - had an exclusive interview with dusty (the night he was on the footy show)

does interview back to camera - it was dusty fletcher.

They asked Tim what happened in 86, you looked like winning ten straight! - he said it was all sheedys fault ;)

He said we were all training one night - Sheedy used to blow the whistle, last one in would have to do 20 - but as hed blow he would be on the move , no one would know where he was going. They finally get in, Sheedy says look up...all the players are looking up at the sky wondering what's going on, its a full moon,

Sheedy "how did they ever get a man up there?"

Watson thought it was a question

Tim: " umm I think they used rockets"

that was the end of the dynasty. heh

its funny though, channel 7 tried like crazy to get a show to compete with the footy show for years, spent so much money on it - they finally succeed with a two bit internet skit show after they have given up

anyone been watching the front bar?

I caught one on you tube this morning - with Tim Watson the guest.

Gee, he has turned into a sharp witt the old wispy - couple of great old stories too - specially about sheeds.

Front Bar is my favourite football show, really funny. I've been watching it since it was only available on the AFL site (a few years ago now). Big Molloy fan, but Sam Pang steals the show.
Tim was hilarious, I especially liked the story of when the Essendon recruiters picked him up from Dimboola.

Real Foxtel. Foxtel Now is I think the thing my friend lent me her password to for GoT, quality is shite.
What did you watch it on? Foxtel Now on Chromecast/Apple TV or Telstra TV is perfect HD quality. It's slightly less quality for fast paced sports like AFL but mostly pretty decent if you've got reasonable internet speeds.
