Well it's just that most of my Ballarat mates, it's all they talk about. I'm from Melbourne so my old school mates are there, but I see the blokes here more often and all they talk about it those topics. I've literally got nothing despite having worked at Toyota for 3 years at one point.

Well I really married into it. My wife's girlfriends, all their husbands who we spend heaps of time with. top blokes don't get me wrong and we've had some great adventures. It's just whenever we get onto these topics I grab another beer.

Hmm, lets see how I’d go with those topics.

Fishing: boring, cruel to animals.
Cars: no interest, gets you from A to B.
Tools: yawn.

Wifey is currently getting into crypto currency because the IT guys at her work are all into it. Apparently her boss has made a couple of million on it but keeps working just because 'he likes working'.

I don't think she has any idea what she's doing though as she's basing her decisions on ones that are cheap and have a name or icon she likes. It just seems like gambling to me. Nevertheless I'm constantly being updated on which ones are going up or down and she's banging on about this one that has made her $200 since this morning. I don't understand how this stuff works at all and I've already told her last night I'm sick of hearing about it as it means nothing to me. She's like 'oh you'll care when I've made big money' and I'm like yeah you're right. I will care then so can you stop talking about it until that time?

So to update, I gave her the go ahead last night to invest $1000 and she has just emailed me to let me know she's currently $405 up.. from guessing.

I keep saying to her so let me get this straight you're just guessing right? You're doing no research whatsoever? Yeah, but blah blah blah this has gone up, that's gone up. She thinks she's Warren Buffett or something. When she started talking about pulling $10k out of the mortgage was when I decided we needed to discuss some limits. At first she was pissed with $1000 limit but I was like but this has gone up, that's gone up. It's a sure thing right? Should take you no time right? Silence.

Any IT types in here care to share some wisdom? Narrowed my choice down to 3 for a new laptop. Have some basic needs to consider. Needs to be u der 14 inches, i5 or better, 8gb ram and 256 ssd.

The lenovo is smaller which is good, but the others are small enough. I like that it is i7, but for what I'm doing it's probably not much to sway me either way.

Yeah we had the first one replaced under warranty within 12 months.
