Its funny, the way that sub continental and Asian people are able to squat with their feet flat - its something I don't think many of us westerners can even do!

their hips open right out. I mean, kids can do it because they are naturally flexible, but yeh....think its something you need to have worked on all your life ie by going to the toilet maybe.

I had some horrendous experiences with squat toilets across the place - especially on indian trains, picture it.. you have this:

so you think to yourself OK, im not touching anything here with my hands.. but because I cant squat with my feet flat im kind of perched awkwardly on the balls of my feet.....throw in the moving train and you are teetering on the brink the entire time - quick shunt of the tracks and you either have dirty shoes or you need to use a hand to balance... then there's the untold question of what happens when you don't fire the rockets into the death stars exhaust port correctly..
And if you're on the balls of your feet those pants round your ankles are right in the crosshairs.

I feel like men's rooms and ladies' rooms differ at this point. Thoughts Harlequin Max Headroom CourtzMajora
Women I think are much more self conscious about noise, I agree with Lore

I used to clean toilets where I worked at an amusement park at the end of the day, the men’s toilets were by far the worst. I had to clean up an actual turd in the men’s urinal once. The women’s toilets were usually fine, maybe because they were mostly used by families. Women’s toilets in clubs can be pretty disgusting though.

Those air freshener balls are foul by the way, how do men stand them?

I have stood guard at the door of the male toilets at bars more than once for a female friend while she's used them, because the female toilets were in such a terrible state as to be almost unusable.

Ahhh, the Urinal Cookie. I’d still prefer cleaning that over the Strawberry Tampon Shortcake

I might diverge slighty from all this toilet talk... although I am a fan of the active random chat thread!

I have a tale - its not a tin foil tale so keep the pitchforks away - don't extrapolate me to being the devil antivaxxer or whatever

But.. ;)

When the kids were born we kind of made a decision to try not to pump them with shit and use natural products where possible, around the house and internally as well as additive free foods ect. A part of this change was to stop using flouride toothpaste in favour of a natural alternative

At the time, partner had a few little teeth issues, receding gums and what not but nothing major.

Fast forward to now, bout 6 years later we have all been to the dentist, we continue to be a filling free house. In fact, the dentist said Her teeth have improved from when he last saw them - the kids are both a1 (have never once used a fluoride toothpaste in their little lives)

As he was giving them their little goody bags with the Colgate toothpaste and stuff and what not we said nah we don't use that stuff -he was taken a back, its really in the best interests of your kids teeth that you do... but you just gave us a full bill of health! before you knew we don't use it.. we agreed to disagree but is the proof not in the pudding?

I understand our drinking water usage might be covering for it but still, happy with our choice.

Yep dentists are big advocates of flouride. There must be some pretty sweet kickbacks from Big Flouride. :)
Putting it in the water supply is pretty strange if you think about it. If the Government cared that much about our teeth, why not allow dentists to bulk bill?

Is there lot a sugar tax?

I assumed we had one with how expensive a block of Cadbury is these days.

Daylight ******* robbery.

hmmm i'm not sure about it all

In 1980, just 10 per cent of Australian adults were obese, today that figure is 28 per cent — among the highest in the world.

they blame sugar.. maybe?

maybe everyone is just sitting their fat arses behind screens all day instead of being active?

wheres the tv tax or the computer tax?

maybe education and trying to help people make the right choices is the way forward - but taxes help, you know

It's all refined carbohydrates too.

Once converted in the body, it's practically all the same thing, as it is converted to glucose.

^^ fat doesn't make you fat. Who knew.

I'm all for a sugar tax. Dreaming, but those funds should then be used to subsidise healthy, fresh food.
