I've never even been to the snow
You gotta go dude, I'm not exactly a classic Melb supporter but I've been a few times and it is amazing fun. Get a few friends to go with you and book some skiing or boarding lessons, you'll have a ball.

terrible but fails to say that he was driving back from a country community camp which he helped with and was overtaking.. Click bait
Meh, if he's been booked for speeding while overtaking, that's a bit shite. If someone is cruising along 5 kph below the speed limit, it's better to overtake at 130 than 110.

I am. Enjoying it too. Close proximity to the lake which is good for a trot around. What are the good eateries in town?
Health Cafe (nunn st) is a nice little cafe to eat at, and like the name suggests probably the healthiest. Art Gallery is pleasant for lunch. Golf club (out towards mansfield), North Eastern (nunn st) and the Royal Hotel (bridge st) are all fantastic places to have dinner, bowls club is alright but more your own opinion. Not sure about Rustic (bridge st) because they've changed apparently or Georginas (bridge) as i have eaten their for a while

Green and Grow actually has a nice little cafe, and it's nice and peaceful out their to eat. A spot people forget about. Gotta give Hollywoods cafe a plug too because i work there (sort of), Looks like a pizza shop but trying to promote itself to more than just that.

I live a couple of blocks away from the train station which is handy for getting up to goto the footy those saturday and sunday mornings. Words of the wise, you'll want to stay clear of ballantyne street. It's in the bronx part of town and it's probably the worst part. Every town has that one street, and this is our one

Hey. Question.

Someone comes over to your house - say a related-to-your-partner type person. And you've put in shitloads of effort cooking etc. And in the course of the evening the person, while sort of pretending they're just being blokey-jokey manages to:

a) call aborigines "Abos" multiple times;
b) say all aborigines are lazy and can't keep off the grog;
c) say all aborigines in AFL are soft;
d) crap on about how the thought police are ruining afl with introducing the women's comp;
e) say what a shit team Melbourne is multiple times (while JLT match with Melbourne, that I was hoping to relax and enjoy, is on);
f) go on about Melbourne supporters, Mt Buller, land rovers etc all being shit;
g) crap on about having working class values while in reality owning a franchise finance company;
h) accuse you of being a liberal voter (I'm not)

What exactly is the right way to handle the situation? (You can assume I didn't necessarily handle it well on this occasion at all but I was pretty fed up.)
Tell him to join big footy, he belongs here.

Yeah I like the Northo! If I get a pizza from Hollywood's I'll come in full Dees kit and see if you're there. Then I'll take it to Ballantyne St and have dinner on the edge

North Eastern is great! Used to play pool down there with mates after work.

haha it'll be pretty unlikely, my hours have been cut. Still on the roster just haven't worked there in like a month. They'll probably think i put you up to something. Should meet at a board meet up this year. Although you'll probably bump into me around town, i'm always wearing dees attire especially in winter.

We went to deliver to Ballantyne St once, the poor driver had to bail on the delivery because these group of guys came out and started rocking his car and he couldn't get out.

My phone app just told me I've been smoke free for 139 days and 12 hours. Which is great, but why has it waited until now to send a 'keep it up' alert? What's significant about 139 and a half days?
Good work.

I quit about 18 months ago when I found out I was going to be a dad. had smoked pretty much for 17 years (quite suprising considering I was a very active/sporting person). Quit cold turkey, no drugs, no hypnosis/ no books ext. Still have the very odd one here or there socially.

I sort of wish I had the self control to have the occasional cigarette socially - like after a nice restaurant meal or after a 100 point loss. But I would probably just plummet Ben Cousins style.

Haha. Look I really one evr have them in social settings, even then most times I don't have any at all. I might have one or two with a mate on the weekend, two or three weeks in a row and then go three months without having one. Don't worry though sometimes I get the cravings when I am by myself.

I think the key is having a strong reason as to why you won't take it back up full time. I have mine as I described above.

Either 8 or 256.

Gigafloppawops? Sounds racist to me.
Pfft, that's less than my waffle maker.

Bought a laptop last year. Trying to decipher why a computer with 960 MHz this, 2.4 GHz that, etc instead of one with 920 MHz watsy, 2.1 GHz wishy, etc... results in a price difference of over $1k. Ended up just having my brother pick one out for me.
