For all the controversy for my namesake having his guns taken away (which FYI I support due the seemingly unending gun violence in The USA) I would like to remind to the moaners out there aa a life long Elmer fan, there has been plenty of shorts over the years from WB where Elmer was not carrying a gun or being a Hunter (well more so in the early years of Warner Bros cartoons but still)

Btw I was alarmed and dismayed by looked across Elmer videos on YouTube I saw one of these ranting, editorial vlogs called 'Toxic Fudd'

Well I never ! Elmer is actually the one who is always usually beaten up/hurt or maimed or have his vacations/plans ruined in his shorts by Bugs (or sometimes Daffy) than vice versa.

He is a poor misunderstood soul, Elmer Fudd

I don‘t think anyone who attended those demonstrations should be classified as morons. Anyone attending would have not taken the step without deep thought. Would you march for a cause?
Wow, i never knew chasing internet points from the lefty-twitter-using crowd was classified as "deep thought"... i'm glad to be constantly learning new things.

Isn't 8K a thing now ?
It is, but it's not really affordable yet in a meaningful way. That should start happening next year, with 8k TVs that have enough effective resolution to better 4k OLED, while also being under $5000 (read the section I wrote on contrast modulation in that comparison post).

The other component is the appropriate panel size being affordable too. We're not really at the point where 85"+ TVs are mainstream, much less 8k.

Motion resolution matters alongside this, and 120Hz is a nice step up. In the PC realm, we're currently at 360Hz.

Bit harsh FBI. Being a stats man, how many do you think fit this category?

Answer the question.

I would and have but wouldn't in the middle of a pandemic, clearly these people weren't really deep in thought at all.

A month ago a friend I've been close to for 49 years after meeting at primary school passed away. I wasn't able to attend her funeral to my pay respects, not even her whole family was able to attend. Upsetting as it was, we understood why we couldn't. We respected the restrictions that were in place for the greater good of the whole community. Those people should have done the same for us.

That's a really poor assessment of the makeup of the people who are marching. Most who are marching across the world are ordinary people who want to see the end to certain injustices. There will always be a few extremists who attach themselves to a cause but I'm not seeing that as being a big part of this particular movement. I question their timing but I wholeheartedly support their cause.

I’m sad for your circumstances but I’m sad for all those who have suffered as a result of deaths in custody. I support those who made a decision to attend these rallies. The decision to attend these rallies would not have been taken lightly. It’s about time we recognised their pain and suffering and did something about it.

I disagree with this.

I don't think the vast majority who attended would have given even the slightest bit of thought to the pandemic.
Can’t understand why you believe that the vast majority didn’t even think through their attendance after being in lockdown, seems illogical that the thought never crossed their minds given the disruption to the whole of society over a sustained period.

More likely they did consider their attendance in relation to the pandemic and decided the cause was worth the risk, just like the hundreds of campers and tourists who made a conscious decision to descend on Echuca for the weekend.

Because people are illogical as a general rule.

I am not sure the ability to socially distance in a rally is really there and to compare with people going camping doesnt seem to me to be similar.

In less than a 2 hour period the supermarkets were stripped bare of essentials such as bread, milk etc. on the Friday night.

Can‘t tell me there was proper social distancing from the visitors to town while mixing with the locals.

Guarantee there was less than optimal personal hygiene conditions as well.
