what a day :tearsofjoy:

You're telling me, I got woken up at 20 to 11 last night to someone walking out a door outside or inside, so of course, I grab an axe just case its intruder so they get bladed fury for waking me up. Only it wasn't, it was the old man and sound of running water.

I pass it off as rain since half tired, adrenaline is gone after recognising the "intruder" and hey, it rained most of the day anyway so seemed plausible, only it wasn't. So 3 hours later and torches we discover a burst pipe, and I have all of 3 hours sleep to then not have running water, work from home and basically wallow in filth until midday.

Then I managed a shower and dear god was it beautiful.

I then had a half hour nap, as tired in the afternoon, and now i kinda need to go shopping sometime this week for lunchables and drink but hey, today is not that day.

Today, can be purged with fire, I am not a plumber I took physics dagnamit, not manual labour bullshit.

How does sharing work?

You have apple.
I want apple.
You sigh, grab a knife and plunge it into my heart.
You have entirety of apple.

No wait, step three is using said knife on apple to cut it in half, silly me, then we both have half an apple for someone to then want half of that and it's a vicious cycle where everyone gets a fraction of the apple that you had and everyone is still hungry.

Solve world hunger; eat that hunger and use the knife on more important things.

Just finished Rory Stewarts "The Places in Between" which is about his solo walk across Afghanistan in 2003 a few months after the Taliban were ousted.

Rory is the bloke who for a moment might have become English Prime Minister instead of Boris.

He looks like the quintessential English (Scottish) eccentric but the book is one of the more amazing "travel" books I've read.

Solo walk across Afghanistan mountains in winter dependent entirely on the good will of the villagers he meets along the way.

I've heard his book is a good read but I never took to him when he was in the running for British PM.
I always thought he had a head that could get him a lead part in Planet of the Apes without needing the makeup.

Its just an amazing read.

He's either one tough mother, completely naive or totally insane - but probably a combination of the three.

Anyone got any tips for running pain and lack of strength in your legs during the run?

My vo2 is going slightly backwards too.

Hi StC.

I have been running at high intensity for nearly fifty years with very few injuries. My advice is to run exclusively on grass. Avoid the pavement/bitumen at all cost.

Also, after a few minutes of jogging, do ballistic stretching of all main muscles, then continue running. I find that interval training is more beneficial than jogging (albeit a lot harder!).

I run every second day to give my legs time to recover from each session (I do weights on alternate days).

Hope this helps.

I echo this. Even bitumen has more give than concrete.
Do toning classes and visit a physio specialising in running to get your cadence checked and improved

sounds like i got lucky with my decision to just do bog laps around the footy oval on the grass. got some new brooks shoes. which has helped with the tibia pain a bit.

i'm up to the 5 min run, 3 min walk repeat 2 more times. goes up to 2 x 8 min runs. then a 20 min run. to eventually hit 5km. so very short distances.

my cadence is 170 to 178. trying to up it is hard with how tired my legs are. i was doing weights but stopped when i started to swim as well. run one day. swim the next. repeat. finding swimming is pain free and more rewarding as i'm starting to really up the distance i can do very quickly. i wanna get that with running, but it appears i have a mix of tired legs and a bit of pain through the tibia.

how much does a physio set ya back?

Is coffield going out with Harvey’s daughter ??

I dunno, lets track his mum and grill her for the goss like all good journos.

In other news, it's amazing how a death can bring people together. It's like, don't hear from you in 20 years and suddenly here's 8 phone calls in a day. Congrats you successfully ghosted for 2 decades and no one gave a s**t, everyone was happy, why ruin a good thing?

everytime I run more than once a week my shin splints flare up. Do I need new runners or orthotics? It sucks cos I’d like to like running but I’m on my feet for my job so having my legs hurt every day isn’t ideal.

Get Jesus to hand out the bits of apple.

SaintsSeptember , from what I read let's say I have Kayo on my phone or laptop I can give 1 other person (i assume) the password in another house access.at payment time. Either the other person would direct debit half the payment into my account or the the other way round.
In other words for access to 2 houses in stead of being $25 a month each it's $12.50 per month.
