Hanners is apparently.

I’d pay for Hanners to give a shout out to his bad calf from his good calf if he wasn’t already earning a s**t tonne of money for not really doing much.

"hey Trainee Receptionist, everyone at St Kilda are wishing you well in your first week at your new job. everyone is looking forward to the accounts renewals you will generate. every account you keep is money that can go towards helping your colleagues some of who are unfortunate enough to be on workers comp."

You thought hand gestures were bad. Apparently your fake midcentury Ikea couch makes you a neo nazi. You now need to sit on cardboard boxes on the floor but be careful not to appropriate the slum look because that's racist too, minimalism- Japanese cultural appropriation, antique style is colonial idolising.....consumerism is a racial minefield.

Seriously you can make an argument for anything being racist or problematic if you try hard enough.

"Another example: I talk about how designers Charles and Ray Eames invented a leg splintduring World War II that was used for medical evacuations. The splint dictates the idea of what is a healthy leg."

Those Fascists were insidious, one of their agenda items is to get to StKilda.
It's obvious that they started WW1 to derail StKilda after their brilliant 1913 season. Surely such a real war wouldn't start because of some Serbian killed an Austrian Archduke. Hell the Germans didn't even like the Austrians.
Anyway, because the Germans were being such assholes, the Saints decided to change from Red Black and White, the colors of the German flag, to Red Black and Yellow.
No doubt had the Germans won , they would have forced the Saints to change their colours back. But they lost, so there was nothing else they could do except change their flag colour to Red Black and Gold, matching the Saints despite everyone in Australia hating Germans at the time.

StKilda kept their Red Black and Gold until 1922 since they already had the wool, and it would take a while for the ladies in the social club to knit new ones.
Then they changed back to Red Black and White.

Of course , any Germans inclined to be assholes at the time were outraged, and threw their weight behind Hitler , who promised to restore the German flag to the colors of StKilda football club. Hitler was true to his word and did it as soon as he was in power.

The Saints briefly considered changing their colors to purple, lime green, and high vis orange, but the ladies in the social club stamped their feet in protest.
Instead they rallied the Australian people, and sent them off to attack the fascists, and also made Aeroplanes designed to be state of the art, except they were a bit slow due to having Holden Grey engines, and even developed a tank.

After the war StKilda generously allowed Germany to keep their Red Black and White colours, so long as they refrain from being Nazi assholes, which, to their credit they have.

( Parts of this story are true ).

Say what you will about the Nazis treatment of certain people, but they had an amazing eye for fashion and design.

Ironically that mid century modern style was developed out of a design movement started at the Bauhaus and Weiner Werkstatter which was bought to the US by escaping Jewish immigrants. Lots of the earliest customers of modernist design were Jewish so the idea that it's a white pride movement is a little bit idiotic.

Hugo Boss did the Nazi uniforms and the VW, MB, AEG/Westinghouse and plenty of other big German companies built their dominance by working with and for the Nazis.

If buying a mid century sofa is borderline Nazi sympathising, then surely buying a Westinghouse fridge is worse, they literally funded them.

How Volkswagon got started.

Ukcar.com explains that Porsche was about to settle with Tatra when Hitler intervened, saying he would take care of the issue. Very shortly after that, Germany invaded Czechoslovakia, taking control of Tatra and putting a halt to production of the T97.

If you are ever fortunate to be driving in FNQ, and you arrive at a town and decide to fill up with petrol.
Never ask the guy at the cash register where in town would be a great place for a coffee.
Because his concept of a great coffee is different to that of a hipster barista in Brunswick St.
And mine.....
