If the U.S are less likely to participate in something like that, what kind of dent are they supposed to make in their 393 million guns with a buyback scheme.

They need to do something about guns, but the "Australian solution" isn't going to work.

A buy back wouldn't be a quick fix for America, it would have to be a phased approach preventing future sales and destroying any guns in the interim that do get seized. You are talking something that would take possibly generations to get to a point anywhere near where Australia is.

But until you actually get their population to get on board with the concept it's all a pipe dream.

I've thought that before too. If you had an overweight or unfit coach yelling at you during time trials and pre season drills I don't think it'd be that motivating.

Losing to Woosha in a time trial though..
