Nah. Both lifts out too, including the heritage lift which only 'one technician in Victoria' can fix. 15 flights of stairs wasn't so good, but thankfully the building is clear of senior management this morning!

I'm interested to hear from anyone who has adopted a cat.

Figured that it would be best to go with an adult cat as they're basically on death row.

I think the death row consideration is admirable, mate. I guess talk to the people at the shelter.

Funny story: my ex had a cat. When we broke up she issued me with an ultimatum, "take the cat who I'll have it put down". I took the cat.

The cat lived for 14 years... when He finally died the current Mrs Grizzlym wanted to send the ex (who I haven't seen since judgment day) a photo of the beast in his dotage and a split vet and food bill for the 8 years we looked after him.

My missus did this recently.
Unfortunately, and strangely she became allergic to the Cat after only a few days and soon had to return her to the 'Lost Dogs Home'. You can imagine....tears flowing. Wasn't much fun. She'd grown very attached, very quickly.

I say go for it. There are plenty of unloved animals out there, just looking for a good home.

let them cats die and get a cute little kitten imo, you won't even feel bad about it because kittens convert all your negative energy into oxygen. just make sure when you get a cat off death row that he is friendly then because if a cat is a dick when you get him home he probably always will be. if you can't tell and you end up getting a rubbish cat take him back for a swap, you might feel bad about sending him to his death but if you don't then the good cat you could have instead will die so that your bad cat can live. also cats don't like having their name changed so if you don't know it try every name until he reacts to one. if you can't find the name choose an ancient roman name because those are the ones cats like best and he might not mind

The bizarre thing is that the seven year old tabby I found on the RSPCA website is called ZEUS!

No kidding.

Hopefully he won't mind having a Greek rather than Roman name.

I'll be sure to keep the receipt.
