My wife was talking to a friend of hers on the phone today & the subject of a couple who we vaguely know was brought up in conversation. Charles & Joylene Starling have just had their first baby, a girl, & naturally enough everybody gets excited when they name their first child.

But this one goes straight into the "What were the parents thinking?" file.

They're both muso's & had a wonderful time recently in Italy so it seems, so for some ludicrous reason they have named their daughter:

Mercy Symphony Sorrento Starling

It's got everything that makes me cringe; a biblical reference, a musical reference & where they had a shag (not to mention the acronym MSSS).

I can't wait until little Grace Cantata Pooltable Starling is born.
