Now just try and tell me that this fella hasn't got something up his sleeve.

Well, he's either up to something, or that's some wicked hash cake he's been enjoying.

What brand of tinned tomatoes do you use?

Been using Bionature from Italy and am really digging the flavour.

For the first time in my life I'm voting for Dr Seuss tomorrow.

I'm all electioned out.

I am so disenchanted with our politicians (from all sides).

It's mostly a cynical exercise about staying in power. All bluff and micro-targeting.

Stand for something, do something. There's plenty of huge issues facing people and this country, but it's all too hard, and might lose votes.

One of the best things about shift work is that you become trapped in a world that no one can reach you unless you really want to be reached. Ala, I do not see any news services anymore. I see morning and daytime TV, if anything.

If not for looking at the HUN website to keep up to date on what is happening I wouldn't even know the election was on.

And right now I have a very federal election feel....it's like a choice between cold 2 day old porridge or burnt toast....

Your election is sounding similar to the way the WA elections went, with the libs having to get into bed with the nationals to gain power and who are now sending families to the wall with their increases in everything they can get their hands on to meet the demands of the national party and yet the labour party who should be a thousand miles in front on the polls would still lose as they are ps week and have no spine whatsoever.

Gives a clear indication that nobody is happy with pollies and their weak assed meaningless promises.

Will norf still get their ballarat deal if brumby doesn't get in.

Not after I voted they won't :D

Hopefully NOT - This Money should go the Country Hospitals - many are desperate for a $.

I catch trains every day. For 10 years I've been subjected to bullshit advertising about how they have a plan. They don't. They waste money and have conveinetly got an overseas consortium to run the rail so they can pass the buck. It's a disgrace. Myki is a disgrace. Traveling by train gets worse by the day.

Housing prices are insane. Then the government take huge amounts of money via stamp duty. I struggle to see my kids ever being able to afford a house.

No one really tackles issues like this. It's all bandaid, strategic policy to appeal to swinging voters. No big issue stuff.

Both parties are the same. They just differ on the detail.

Reactionary bunch, they are. There's many a time when I think State Governments should be abolished.

Our political system is characterised by the politics of staying in power. That's what it's all about.

I hate it. Sick of it.

A few weeks back, I found a brilliant ticketing system for public transport.

Where was it?

Well, the old rundown machine was sitting next to the sparkling new Myki machine.

I stood and looked at the Myki, and just scratched my head.

Wandered to the old machine. I pushed 3 buttons, paid and never had a problems and this coming from a person that uses PT about once a year.

And to think they reinvented the wheel to replace these things....

What would happen to our Sponsorship with Tas:)
We could move to a politicised municipal government system, like many other countries in the world. ;)

Too many levels of crooks taking too many cuts along the way. Perhaps the local seat in which Launie sits would administer the contract that would be funded by the Feds. We are in a national comp, after all.

Could - should - but wont:)

Aint that the truth

The government in power spend their term introducing 'new iniatives and taxes' to fix the mistakes that were apparently made by the previous government and meanwhile the opposition is then questioning the current government about why stuff that they could of done has not been done and being critical of their inability to act.

Oh my god, does any of that make sense, I have now confused myself

Bailleau has this hard-nosed law and order policy. Report in the Age says Victoria has never been safer. And around we go.

Talk to people who catch trains, or are trying to buy a house, or are scrambling for resources for their kids i.e. school and kinder places, or are in the public hospital systems. They are big, real issues facing many people. Labour skirted around the edges, the Libs will do the same. No one will take them on.

Libs get in, Labour get kicked out but me thinks no real change will happen. No big issues are ever issues.

One good thing is that disgusting adevertising/spin machine the Labour party has been pouring money into for a decade will finally shut down. Freakin' taxpayer funded propaganda was a disgrace. Transport ads telling me that 'they had a plan'.

Just give parties 5 years each and alternate.

That way, they will only be interested in fixing the state rather than making sure they get re-elected...

Should be just made up of who ever is elected for each electorate regardless of what party they belong too

Interesting times ahead. Our little unit was supposed to go to a new Victorian State Government Department being set up. With the election being undecided we are left in limbo land...great, nothing like uncertainty at Christmas time, love it.
