I have three streaming services now and too many choices. I can't keep my head around them all. I'm watching Man in the High Castle which is a bit meh. I'm not good at quitting when they get boring. Boys is on the watch list as is Altered. The worst thing is the kids want Disney...I'd have to stop working to fit shows in at that point.
I’m paying for three which is too many imo but my kids just add what they like which they pay for so we have 5.

Anyway there are some fantastic programs but I can honestly say I’m not watching anymore than a few hours a day. What I do like is to find something I like then binge watch it with my wife or one of the kids.

Yeah pretty good thanks gringo, I’ve dropped some weight and I’m back on the bike and light weights.

I’ve just changed GP for the third time in 3 years, the other two retired which is good for them but a pain for the patients. Getting over the patella tendinitis really slowed me up, I’d still struggle to walk a kilometre but I’m getting some cardio on the bike at least and I’m pretty much pain free at rest.

This new guy is a take the drugs and move around type, I’m less enthusiastic about taking meds unless there’s no other choice. Anyway I’m hoping if I can drop another 10kg I’ll be back taking a regular walk even if it’s a short one, which is something I’ve really missed. I’ve got a referral to a surgeon at the epworth but I’m more interested in hearing my options than having replacement surgery at present.

Getting old is absolute rubbish when things like knees and hips go.

Yeah, some people say joint replacement was the best thing they ever did and others say the worst. I would prefer meds and surgery free though as well. You must have some discipline Yawkey, 10 kegs is huge if you are banged up.I'm in my 40s and my body is starting to make me pay for my past. I can't move my ankles for the first 30 minutes every morning and my back is always sore.

Friends who have had knee replacement surgery seem to be fairly evenly split one is in more pain than before, it’s hardly a ringing endorsement.

Absolutely you pay for past miss use, you’re at the age I started to feel it. I’m fairly disciplined when it comes to exercise, I guess it’s the swimming background but I enjoy working out I always have and I hate loosing. On balance I’m more OCD disciplined as it certainly doesn’t apply to other areas where I probably have poor impulse control haha.

I’m not much of a diet man more a whatever works for you type of guy. Imo it’s hard to go past energy in energy out basic stuff. Reduce the empty calories in alcohol, snacks etc smaller portions and plenty of vegetables and move more by finding something you can do.

It’s hard though when you see people your own age running around like their 30. The dad of one of my eldest sons friends is mid fifties plus and still wining his 5k park run some Saturday’s, I’m jealous.

Its hard when you've traditionally jogged for exercise, and your knees start to mess up, you can't jog as much, and you even tend to get up and do less stuff, so you are forced to diet , you get used to eating a certain amount , but you have to cut back, so hungry a lot of the time.

Huge problem, the temptation to sit around because things hurt or your waiting for an injury to heal is massive.

I guess finding something you can do instead of jogging etc is the challenge. I have to say that sitting on the exercise bike even in front of the tv is so boring, but what can you do. Finding things that fill you up and are good for you is also a challenge but there’s a surprising range of healthy options that fill you up. Just making sure you have plenty of fresh vegetables or salad on your plate is a good start.

Around my place I have my kids ordering Uber eats every other day, gee it’s tempting. Anyway if I fall off the wagon occasionally it’s no big deal. I figure the weight went on over years so as long as I’m trending down it’s no big deal if it comes off the same way, it’s probably better than a crash diet.

My future son in laws dad is on the shakes and freeze fried meals etc and I’m sure he’ll drop plenty of weight but what’s happened in the past is he’s put it back on with interest. Anyway the diet industry is making a fortune so I guess it’s a common problem, can’t move around here in the morning for bloody personal trainers and their clients.

There’s two things I’ve never tried but I’ve seen them work for other people, ones Jenny Craig and the others healthy choice. I worked with a guy who used healthy choice to drop a lot of weight. The meals were decent serving of good food that anybody would eat happily enough. I didn’t think it would be very practical for most people but it worked well for him.

Its easier to control my diet since my wife left :D .

I’d be on the beer and kebab diet.

I was just watching the Simpson’s season 19 espisode 14 dail “N” for nerder where he’s cheating on his diet and takes the donar kebab to the hotel room, very funny stuff.

Bourbon on Ice, less calories than Beer.
Less carbs.
Chilli Con Carne at least once a week .

I use my whiskey drinking as a diet excuse too. That way I can justify buying quality booze to my wife.

What's with Americans voting for Biden? Dude practically has Alzheimer's and can't string a sentence together, no chance of beating Trump if he gets the nomination

Apparently the youth didn’t rock up to vote. If younger people want to see policy change, they have to get off their butts.

How can they blame the boomers for all their problems if they do that?

They can argue that in the main Boomers are the ones that are co-ordinating the gerry mandering, restricting accessibility to voting stations, purging voters from registration rolls, and introducing new voting regulations that make voting logistically difficult.

But still. The only way to beat the system is to get out and vote no matter how hard. Or revolt.

It's what the western world is missing these days, a good old fashioned proletariat revolution to be put on film to teach the younger folk that to get what you want you need to mass organise a bloody swathe through ruling classes, spend a decade pottering about then decide that yep, nope, maybe, why not that way and muddle about until we annex New Zealand only to lose it immediately.
