There is plenty of room for left & right ideology in a democratic society.

I agree, all extremists are dangerous. I am left and broadly agree with BLM, and trying to stop the hard right letting insidious racism permeate modern society.

However there is something even more insidious which are these corporates coming out in support of BLM and censoring media.

What is worse is that corporates are deliberately keeping the focus on racism because

a) they pander to sell product
b) by focusing on racism the billions upon billions they got from the corporateist political parties ( both conservative and progressive) in most western countries at the expense of the people they represent.

In the USA there is an estimate 50 million people who are going hungry. 40 million unemployed go one $1200 check lost their job and health insurance while corporations got literally trillions in bailouts, and still sacked workers.

But hey lets ban Gone with the Wind and Fawlty Towers because you know that will satisfy the baying pile on mob while we keep distributing all of the wealth upwards.

All political parties are dictated by the corporate dollar rather than their morals. They don’t believe what they sell, they sell whatever helps them to line their pockets. At some point it has been lost on them why they chose a career in politics.

Now that was thing I agreed with changing, the title of that Agatha Christie book.

As a TV critic said today after Tropic Thunder was pulled , so now there is no room for irony. This is really fascist. Christ it was not a someone in blackface, it was a statement on the idiocy of method and how some actors are raging dickheads.
Our world has reached peak virtue signalling while corporates piss themselves laughing ad they rake in the billions.

When you say BLM, do you mean the concept or the group/orgainsation? Because the political group is in effect a front for a Democrats' election slush fund. And I bet the leaders of BLM skim a bit for themselves as well.

I would say legit. After all Get Up were formed by Democrats/American Unions and were utilised by the ALP and Greens. There are many fronts in politics, particularly when it comes to the movement of money and resources.

Depending on what you read there is a lot of information that supports this concept but it’s difficult to identify what is fact & fiction. The media & media mouthpieces don’t deal in facts. Whilst Candace Owens makes many good points she is pro-Trump so can she be trusted to deliver facts or is it all a ruse for political gain?

You tell a lie so often it becomes truth, if this impacts personal honour, standing, status, you purge it as best you can even if true sicne it impacts the self, and extension from the self.

I had faith the person would be fine, but as soon as you have people and a society, you would bend over and take it as the person, even if it's to your detriment or completely nonsensical to do so.

Ergo, short of a mass extinction event where millions die in an instant, I have no faith at all humanity has the brains or balls, to unify as a species to stop it.

I mean, the fact that we could go to the moon, escape the confines of a planet constantly in motion and land elsewhere, is astounding and a step to better things; the fact we only ceased exploding ordinance in a thing we don't really understand 30 years back is a testament that as a species we are functionally ******ed.

Jacinta Price has interesting views on the BLM movement in Australia. She believes the focus should be on why indigenous Australians are being taken into custody rather than what occurs once they are in custody. Physical & sexual domestic violence is incredibly common in indigenous communities, unfortunately only exceeded by the failure to report such matters. The statistics of deaths in custody in Australia doesn’t bode well for the BLM movement. I believe there are many protesters protesting because they think they are doing the right thing however they are being mislead by a aggressive & relentless political agenda that thrives on emotion & anger. There are other ways & times to make effective & positive change.

You say that but even I who think they are reasonably smart get sucked in to liking smart arse posts that make me feel smarter than dumb arse hicks in the States. It appeals to your specialness and vanity by making you feel superior. It's worked for religions for millennia.

Watching BLM chaos reminds me of watching this. Pretty much after the Russians meddled in the Trump campaign, this time they are targeting social unrest. I'm not saying they caused it but they definitely helped stop the pot. There is hundreds of years of simmering tension and it had to probably come to a head but it's good to remember you can be played even when you think you are too smart to be gullible. They also troll right wing people too, I did some research and it seems both sides are probably being wound up.

Half the time they don't know who they are. The Antifa are getting trolled by the right and the right is getting trolled by the left. I remember reading an article where this journalist tracked down some of the most racist and offensive people on 4chan and they turned out to be young teens trolling people with out any actual interest in ideology. Their reason to do it seemed to be to overcome boredom mostly.
