Most parties have their dirty past. Labor here had the white Australia policy. These days they court a more educated socially progressive type. The Libs were at one point talking about taking Australia and removing the democratic system. Menzies sold iron to Japan, our enemy. The Labor party was once the party for the working classes and so hated immigrants taking jobs etc. The Liberals were the party for the old money and small business voters. The Libs went after radical financial reforms while Labs went social justice light. My family were all conservatives for generations and they saw them as the steady as she goes, preserve the system types. Today both sides have a brand but they are both sell outs to the corporate take over of politics. I think being humanist makes me a better person so I vote Labor but still think they are shit, just slightly less shit because the others sell them self as the punitive party where you kick campaigners when they are down. Both do fu** all though.
My overarching view is that I wish the media would report truthfully or at least be held accountable for shit stories they produce. It would fix society more than a few policies, I reckon.

So what are you advocating for here? You want me to leave the forum [emoji1787]
If you want to come to that conclusion that's on you. I don't want good people leaving the forum.

The problem is both sides think the media is shit.

Not really, people were still warned, banned and removed from the forum.
No I meant considering he was one of the ones constantly negative towards the club and Richo at the time.

Still, I reckon it is an overreaction probably caused by the lack of football to actually talk about.

I dont respond to him, I dont like his sniping style, but thats ok, I don't need to respond to everyone, I would like to see him and Keg on Legs back, as well as a few others.

Just the same regulars who spend all their time arguing and hanging shit on the club. Two have left because of it. I'm sure many more will.

I hope it wasn't me that sent anyone off the forum. I'll try not to vent too much this year, I am prone to the dramatics when shit isn't going well. Not that I have to tell anyone that. :(

Think nothing will beat peak Gringo circa 2018.
You were on top of your game back then [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

You can relax mate it wasn't you.

I wish I'd learn to shut up about politics. I just noticed Mowman has cancelled his account and Kegs on Legs before him. It's actually a shame those guys have walked. We should never have gone there, They were some of the better posters on here for a long time. Hopefully they come back at some point.

That's a real shame. Both very good members of the forum. Perhaps they will return after a break.

I think we're in agreement on Churchill. I know he did some very bad things and was far from a Saint (no pun intended). Yet when the Nazi menace rolled through Europe he was the type of man needed and his efforts were heroic. If it weren't for Churchill, all of Europe including Britain, would've been a Nazi State possibly until the 1950s. The Nazis would have survived well beyond 1945.

On my comparison of BLM to the Nazis and Communist China, you could accuse me of hyperbole at the moment, but their tactics and messaging are straight from the authoritarian handbook. They're playing identity politics which is toxic and dangerous. And when identity politics draws the lines on a racial basis we're in trouble. That's exactly what happened in Europe 80/90 years ago.

Are you aware that over 90 per cent of terrorist incidents in the USA are perpetrated by far right white supremacist groups? As far as I'm aware, neither Black Lives Matter or Antifa, for example, have killed a single person.

As for 'identity politics', everybody identifies as something, including you. Nobody can live their life completely devoid of identity, unless they are a hermit, cut off from all civilisation. I see nothing wrong with saying that all members of society deserve equal treatment. It is not a supremacist group, in the way the KKK is, for example.

You wouldn't see the Trump cultists and extreme racist far right do this ..

That's a good person. Anybody who will show compassion towards someone who hates them for who they are, is the bigger person. It can't be an easy thing to do, but he displayed empathy for the suffering of a racist.

Equal rights yes. Equality of outcome leads to tyranny.

Your numbers regarding terrorist incidents in the US may very well be right. However, I'm not talking about the past, including the recent past, I'm talking about what's going on now. A number of people have died in the current riots. Whilst we don't yet know how many, if any, have been killed by Antifa. Antifa, whether directly or indirectly, are a major cause of those deaths.

FBI figures on U.S. terrorist incidents/attempted incidents, 2018:

91% far right motivated
8% Islamic motivated
1% far left motivated

By any standards, what is the most significant problem in America?

You don't know if that man was a racist.

That man was in the process of being lynched by a hateful, violent mob. The man who saved him, did what any decent honourable person should do.

The man was a far right 'counter-demonstrator', demonstrating against equality and justice. The black guy helped another person who was there to deny his human rights. Please stop your trolling, it's getting beyond a joke.

Trolling? The 'counter demonstration' was an assembly of people to protect statues. That rally was hijacked by Neo Nazi thugs.

I haven't read the story. Is there any evidence presented regarding whether the guy was one of the thugs or one of the peaceful rally guarding the statues?

And even if he is a Neo Nazi thug. Then the mob of people exceeding 50 in number, that were kicking the shit out of him, are no better.

Which 'peaceful rally' was guarding any statues? Not here in the UK, where it has been far right EDL and Ulster loyalist types, who have taken it upon themselves to agitate against justice, no doubt having taken their example from America. Click on the link above to see the irony of people giving neo-Nazi salutes whilst claiming to protect the statues of those who died fighting Nazism.

As I said, Neo Nazi thugs.

Why has the Random Discussion thread become so serious.
Some light and shade would be nice
We need to get back to some of the core values like bad puns, vegan bashing, perfect pizza bases and ferrets down trouser legs
On another note, I was standing at an ATM recently and an older gentleman asked me to help check his balance. I gave him a very slight push and he fell over, so I'm figuring his balance is no good.
