It was pretty funny seeing a bunch of dicks trying to get a reaction, getting a reaction then shitting themselves. In the UK you might get a stern taking to but the south of the US is like frontier madness. They were lucky not to get lynched.

Never sure how much is put on with Top Gear and how much is real.

That was seriously ******* stupid. It made for some pretty good TV though.

Lucky it was rocks and not bullets.

Agree in the UK you would hardly get a reaction in most areas getting political, with voting not being mandatory and not that many people give a fk compared to the US or even here.

I did say something derogatory about the pope to a bunch of Celtic fans for a laugh in Glasgow once, it didn't go down well and I left the pub straight away - have no religious leaning and don't like either of the Glasgow football teams so it was a totally stupid thing to do, too many beers.

Ozzy Osbourne got in trouble for pissing on the Alamo.
Was just a wall in the right spot as far as he was concerned.

On the top gear thing.

The second thing the American road trip is remembered for is the slogans daubed down the cars. Now that one was planned. It was planned by me. Sorry. I’d had this idea ages before for something called The Texas Smartcar Challenge in which a presenter was required to drive a bright pink Smart covered in jauntily liberal slogans across the Lone Star state and see how far they could get before they got lynched.

I wrote some suggested slogans on strips of paper, divided these up between three envelopes which I gave to the crew, and waved everyone off to the airport. And then, having sent our plucky lads off to their fate, I bravely went on holiday to New York. While I was there I went for an afternoon drink with my friend Tracy, who’s from the American south. We’re actually filming in the south at the moment, I said jauntily. Yes, it’s all terribly amusing, I went on, we’re writing slogans down our cars and driving them through Alabama. Tracy looked aghast. ‘You’re doing what?’ she spluttered. No, no, it’s fine, I laughed. We’re just messing around, I’m sure it’ll just be a little bit awkward or something. ‘Trust me,’ she continued in that casually aggressive tone New York obliges its inhabitants to perfect. ‘I’m from down there, I know those people. They. Will. ****ing. Kill. You.’ Oh dear me no, I said, trying to maintain an upbeat tone. I’m sure it’ll all be fine. Shortly afterwards my phone rang. Several times in fact. I can’t remember the specifics of what was said, but the words ‘properly angry’ and ‘****ing scary’ might have been used and I think possibly Jeremy claimed they were ‘almost literally killed’.

I was on a skype call with a friend in Illinois, just shooting the shit basically from the other side of the world from the US before screams interrupted us.

Turns out someone walked into a bowling alley, unloaded randomly and they all got ushered out of the back room before she obviously hung up the call. Safe to say, I've been drunk on a couch mere minutes before some random dudes knock on doors and then tried stabbing my mates as refused entry to house, literally paralytic "brb, finding soft surface to be prone on" was the play. I was more able to do something then, then being on the call being utterly helpless with people screaming in terror in my ear before dead silence. Eerie as hell.

That's why I flat refuse to visit the USA no way no how. Scarred for goddamn life.

Comparatively, when I visited England to see another friend all I got was "you say you're Australian? Prove it." so all I basically did was go to shop that sold vegemite, offered up some toast and said "more for me". Easy as piss, went back a second time, that time though, friend took a drink offered from the bar, I had to quickly try and recall what the emergency number was then spent a night in hospital with her delirious as all hell.

Suffice to say, I'd rather have been watching sport in a bar about to be lynched.

Just in case people haven’t heard the strategy is working. And mowing people can return to work. Apparently the danger of mowing lawns with no one around is now safe. Who would have guessed.

Golf and tennis is hilarious. How far apart are they. Could not think of 2 safer sports.
I think they are protecting golfers from the magpies.

They have been a bit mental this spring (at least for me)

Really? Are you really this ignorant about potential community transmission after all this time?

It not all about what you think P66, as much as I understand your eagerness to work. It is about potential of transmission through movement.
I am glad you are legally back to work as you have admitted you broke the rules the rest of us had to adhere to because you are better than us, but to pretend you understand more than the epidemiologists about community transmission is just sad.

Please don’t pretend you know more than me regarding to the spreading of Covid by a person mowing a lawn. And you keep talking about epidemiologists because they are the ones this maniac has used. There are also plenty saying the measures are way to tough Also why is it safe for a council worker to mow lawns but not me. Yes the doctors he uses are genius to know that.

This is my working day. Be happy for you to pick up just one danger that could spread the virus. I mow on my own. I mow where there is no people outside apart those walking when I do a nature strip. That is one second where that person passes me. Certainly less dangerous than a runner passing another walker. I then get money from a letterbox or a meter box or more likely a bank account. I do this all day apart from lunchtime where I go to a shop with maybe 5 people in it and order lunch. Now with your great knowledge can you advise the danger to others? Hopefully you are smarter than just doctors said it was dangerous because there are also others experts saying many things aren’t as dangerous as made out. You want to see stupid. You can meet up to 5 people outside now but that doesn’t include backyards and you have to be 5k from home so instead of 5 in a backyards there will be 500 in a local park. And no golf or tennis. How friggin stupid yet people just say the strategy is working. Who would have guessed that seeing no one would drop numbers. Meanwhile nearly every single other state has a nearly normal existence.

As for breaking the rules well I did get permission to work if the lawn was dangerous so maybe you can’t spread it if the lawn is dangerous but yes I did do more than that because of one simple reason. It was a redicolous rule and I knew there was no danger of me spreading or catching the virus. None. And don’t pretend many haven’t broken rules. That’s laughable.

I think keeping a bulk people home and having curfew is about being able to easily trace and enforce the isolation too.

I was speaking to a French friend who is saying he can't understand the media negativity here. Our whole national Covid outbreak date is like a bad day in a European country and getting worse there. He was saying how thankful he is that he was stuck here instead of heading home when he had a chance early on. Family friends have lost loved ones there and he feels like the elder members of his family are at high risk. He thinks we should be celebrating the containment. I guess it's easy to lose sight of what you should be grateful for. Getting it can leave you with permanent health issues even if it doesn't kill you. It's changed my perspective a bit.

Boy oh Boy 140 +Lawns to get to LOL FML

That's a good negative, at least you'll cash back up. Around Caulfield the grass is growing like crazy, you'll finish the first ones and need to go back around again. By mid summer you should have nearly caught back up. The mowing guy we used used to charge double if the lawn got let go.

Hard to charge more when its not the customers fault
I have maybe 20 mows on acreage that are good mows with 2 people for the $$$ but by yourself after 8 weeks not so good LOL
Also 40 odd unit developments from 5 units to 30 units lol at least I will drop a few kilos

See that’s the thing. People compare it to other countries. Why Wouldn’t you compare it to other states in your country. Maybe people don’t like the answers. And haha to the other guy.

Unfortunately that’s a myth. When the grass is growing no one gets it done weekly And that’s what will be required but won’t happen. I have been lucky that a few have paid me for the mows I didn’t do. Don’t think that will be a common thing though. I will be charging more for some lawns but most will be normal price because I know who and who can’t afford to pay more.

I meant I have a worker
Had him for 8 years now
I know you meant that. Would have made things a little easier with 2. Going to be tough now. Not sure how job keeper work works but you mate may not qualify once you go back to work. That’s not good for him or her. I don’t catch the grass but I’m not sure mulching will be that easy if the grass is long. Neither will catching it. Might have to just side throw it depending on the customer
