I dont know if this has been covered, I cant be bothered reading back more than one page, but the main item in yesterdays news was or should have been about the pedaphile round up Australia wide. Now it was the lead item on the ABC news last night, but never got mentioned on Seven. Makes you wonder who the pedaphiles are dont it?

I'm proper centrist. I believe in democratic socialism which is like capitalism with a safety net. It worked here for a long time and is still the model of a lot of Scandinavian countries who's systems I rate. Universal access to health care, education and welfare etc. It's true centrist but we have moved to a neo conservative neoliberal model which is actually radical in that it's not conservative financially.

It's the model that suits big business and billionaires but leaves everyone else to scrap for left overs. It's a slow creep so you won't know what you lost until it's all gone like in the states.

We should have done what Norway did and put money aside when we had a boom and followed our own path. That is fiscally conservative. Hard left wing stuff like cancel culture, communism etc is extreme and unhelpful too. Cracking the shits about corruption and whinging about the current sate of neoliberalism hardly makes me Pol Pot.


Anyway, AI and automation will make things come to a head. We will have to design financial systems around a world where people work less and have lots of spare time with * all to do and less money. Imagine living like we do with COVID restrictions permanently with a dole payment and * all to do.

Yeah, I read up on that. The numbers are horrific. The perpetrators sill include highly pivotal groups like police and people with influence.
It seems not much changes which is f....g depressing, especially as the majority of the population would rate pedophilia as the worst of all crimes.

I read the story on ABC News site while I was having breaky yesterday. I watched Seven news in the evening expecting full coverage of it some 11 hours later. Not a mention. So I switched to the ABC News aat 7pm,, full coverage on the lead item. Makes you wonder about the priorites of the Commercial channels doesnt it.

This was in the same week that Channel 9 in their Australian Crime series showed myself and Det. Sgt Jack Ford walking a crim out of court who had a coat over his head and made it appear it had something to d0 with the Russell Street Bombing. It didnt. It was footage at least 6 years old. The crim was Mr. Baldy. the notorious paedaphile. In l986 I was stationed in the country 300 ks away. More fake news from our Commercial statrions.

I had some hopes that we’d see less bs and a more mature relationship between the community and government of all levels with covid and I think we did for all of a few weeks.
I didn’t think tax cuts was the best answer, regardless of how real they are, was the best approach anyway. For anyone following the Royal Commission into Aged Care, there is going to have to be a far more significant investment to fix this after years of neglect. That money will get cycled back into the economy immediately in most cases. Tax cuts may not.
Meanwhile the NDIS is rapidly approaching the same cliff.

Governments kick it all down the road for the next lot. No-one really wants to fix long term problems on their watch. Even the Libs expected to lose the last federal election and blew up the budget to leave a turd in the bed. Now they have no cash for services and a pandemic lead financial disaster as well.....so they are going to pretend to give tax cuts to the regular folk while cutting it for big earners and companies taxes and blaming the pandemic. No structural repairs will happen to anything for a long time.
