Serious questions like... why do people hate trump so much?

He is a loose cannon with his words, which offends a ton of people these days.

His Presidency didn't have too many surprises for me. He laid out his plans during the 2016 election campaign and he was pretty much sticking to what he said he would do.

I thought his last 18 months have been incredibly poor, though. He botched the corona virus response and doubled down on his poor response.
It felt like once the Russia shit was over, he lost his drive. Kinda weird, because I wanted to see how he would have operated while not stuck under the cloud of the supposed Russia interference.

He's nowhere near as bad as people say.

Heres a simple question to ask yourself as well. Would you want a man like Donald Trump, exhibiting all the same same behaviour and general disdain for people, all the same levels of mismanagment and uncaring flippant disregard for people's health etc.., running the school your children go to? Would you want that man teaching and disciplining your children?

Of course not so why the **** would you want someone like that running an entire country?

From memory his "plans" entailed building a wall to keep the Mexicans out.. which he failed to do outside of of a sparse few areas, bring back American manufacturing.. which he failed to do in any way different to previous Administrations, "Drain the political swamp" which he also failed to do in any tangible way and "Make America Great Again" which well.. its got just as much poverty as before and now is the epicentre of the greatest health crisis of our lifetimes.

By even his own measures he has been an utter failure.

While he failed to drain the swamp, and probably added to it, the rest of your opinions on how he went on the other tasks is wrong.

Manufacturing returned in a way, thanks to Trump. Many companies returned, many will continue to return under Biden. Apple is a big one. Large sections of that wall are still getting built. Many places already had a wall.
As far as making America Great Again, perhaps not. The economy was booming under him, though. Jobs were coming back.

But yeah, he didn't drain that swamp.

So I take it Trump isn't that popular here?

I'm not saying I'm a MAGA hat wearing Trump supporter that thinks everything he does is great.

He has his faults but he isn't the Anti Christ that the self righteous Biden supporters make him out to be and at least he tried to make some changes.

Biden is no saviour, this guy has been in US politics for almost 50 years and has done nothing apart from line his own family's pockets.

He will be a puppet for the Democrat establishment, most of his supporters are women that are probably hoping he drops dead so Kamela Harris gets the gig.

That's probably fair, he's a circus that generates interest and the media promote him to death. He's not as awful as the haters think he is or as good as his supporters think he is. He's an inexperienced politician that steps all over shit in a clumsy way and lacks statesmanship but there have been plenty of shit US presidents. He courts the nutters because he needs them but he didn't invent them either. I'm still glad he's gone though.

Another 4 years and the swamp could have been well drained but alas that seems like it won't happen now.
Under Biden and the Democrats the swap will just get deeper and murkier.
72 million voters in America preferred Trump ..78 million (allegedly) voted for Biden ...
Trump,Trumpism, Republicans and Conservatives are not going away anytime soon.
It would seem on the face of it that America is a very divided country and truthfully how many of those 78 million Biden supporters were Democrats and how many were just anti Trump ?

I'd probably look up overall US manufacturing. It's genuinely no different to years before hand. Pointing out individual companies that may have setup certain plants for specific reasons isnt help either if others have closed creating no net gain. The US employment rate also had been trending upwards at the same rate for years before Trump came to power. There isnt even really any measurable gain since he took power that could be attributed to his administration specifically.

As for the wall, apparrently theyve built 250 odd miles of it, most of which was replacing existing walls. In four years they've managed to do effectively **** all. The border is something like 2000miles btw.

It's very divided but he wasn't draining the swamp, he was just another cane toad introduced to remove parasites that took the place of the native politicians. He is backed by a different group of insidious gougers and scumbags. The US got rich on the back of their objectionable foreign policy and their standard of living was high. Corporations got involved with politics and moved jobs overseas, paid no tax and then promoted dropping wages and living standards. Trump came in saying he knew how to fix it and people loved it. The old guard were too happy to take their bit and pretend to care, Trump was more just cutting out the middle man. At the end of the day the living standards that made life easy in the 50s to 70s period were due to post war boom and the result of unionised workers demanding high wages and protections for decades before hand. We moved away from all that they had achieved and it all fell away. Politics has been commandeered by corporate interests and the people are just an afterthought now. No one has the answers until something shakes it up. Climate, Covid, living standards, Chinese dominance etc. All these things could be a catalyst but while some have it good they'll keep everyone fighting over their favourite circus clown.

Trump isn't easily controlled, the US establishment want an easily controlled puppet President like Biden that does what he is told.

The mainstream media are part of the brainwashing that Trump is bad and Biden is this hero that is going to save the world.

Trump is the only US president in the last 30 years that didn't start any wars, he signed peace deals in the Middle East and de-escalated tensions with North Korea.

He also stood up to China and their attempts to take over the US by building up their own industries again and not being so reliant on China for their products.

I don't think it's any coincidence that Covid, ie. the China virus, was unleashed on the world at the start of this year to derail Trump's re-election campaign and pave the way for the more China friendly Democrats to take power and allow China to take over the US and the rest of the world.

Again, serious question. Who or what is the ‘US establishment’ you refer to?

Trump was a puppet of the Republicans and corporates.
The wall wasn't built, Mexico didn't pay, the single most unpopular thing he did when his approval plunged to 37% was the billionairre tax cuts.
He campaigned on infrastructure, did nothing, and 1000's of lives lost because he was clueless on the pandemic.
Will Biden be any better,? Nope, just no mean tweets.
The only winners will be the cable networks,,Fox and MSNBC will bresthlessly report every time he moves, one barracking, the other fearful because they know he rates

Did I ask him to agree with me or to be open to another point of view ...there is a difference.
Veritas Project is not an alternative PoV but outright misinformation.

How are Trumps fraud delusions going in court?

I couldn't agree more, Joffaboy. The only promise Trump made sure he kept was massive tax cuts for the super rich. Every Republican president since Reagan has delivered on ensuring their donors pay less tax; Trump's other promises fell by the wayside. He promised to close tax loopholes alongside the tax cuts, but of course that was quietly dropped. 'Drain the swamp' - well he did nothing about campaign finance reform and lobbyists and appointed members of his family into government posts.

Build a border wall and Mexico will pay - it's hardly been started.

Started a trade war with China. Unqualified support for Israel.

He withdrew America from numerous international treaties, the most disgraceful, in my opinion, being the Paris Climate Agreement. He has decimated the Environmental Protection Agency (created by Republican President Nixon) thus giving big polluters free licence. Hundreds of environmental regulations on things like clean air, clean water, fracking, wildlife protection, building restrictions on areas of natural beauty, have been shredded. Add to that climate change denial.

We don't need to go into the racism and misogyny. He has attacked every minority group you can think off. Children in cages will be something he will always be remembered for. Banned transgender Americans from the military.

His ambivalence towards white supremacist groups, militias and conspiracy theories, including Q-anon has been disgraceful.

His mishandling of COVID has been criminally negligent. Twelve million Americans infected so far, with 250,000 dead. His failure to even do the basics, such as strongly recommend masks, has been insane.

It just goes on and on. I'm not a fan of Biden at all, but Trump has to go. He is completely unqualified and incompetent, in addition to disgusting. His refusal to concede the election but immediately grasp at another conspiracy theory is entirely predictable. The thing is over seventy million Americans voted for him, meaning his movement is still there, and there is a good chance the Republicans will get even worse.

Meanwhile in Australia privilege is King.

We are doing it here too. We have stacked our federal parliament with ex minerals council linked players. We are giving our post covid recovery money to the gas lobby to invest in what ever they want....which is gas. Unfortunately we signed an agreement to give our gas away overseas with very few royalties and none reserved for locals so that we pay more than it costs to buy in Japan retail as our wholesale rate when we own it. You couldn't take this shit up. We have a family fiend who worked on the gas industry review as a senior auditor for one of the big 4 auditors. He said if the public knew the deals that were signed they'd want politicians jailed.

the articles are free access but you can check them with far left newspapers like the Australian too for accuracy.

I wouldn't call it a landslide, Trump got more votes than he got in 2016 and won some states the polls predicted him to lose like Florida, Ohio and even Texas.

It's a still a close count in Arizona and Georgia and they will have re-counts there and there is some questionable dodgy sh*t going on in other swing states.

Biden winning more votes than any other US presidential candidate including Obama has to raise some serious questions, he only got 3 men and a dog to his rallies while Trump got tens of thousands to his rallies.

I copped a thread ban from the election thread on the politics board for posting this pro Trump stuff, that whole thread is just one big pro Biden echo chamber.
Hey - I've got nothing against anybody posting pro trump stuff - just as long as its not made up unsupported bulls***.

So - here's your chance - can you please explain what exactly is the "questionable dodgy sh*t" that is going on in swing states.

Donald can't seem to be able to do it, his lawyers certainly can't explain it given they are 0-12 in the court cases they've brought so far - so here's your chance to put the record straight.

Perhaps these articles will help you understand the situation.

Interesting the election did turn out to be landslide against trump.

Havent won Arizona since 1996. Havent won georgia since 1992.

Trump must be seriously seriously on the nose to lose Arizona and Georgia.

It was the Republican rejection of Trump that really mattered in the end. Key states like Arizona still voted strongly Republican on the down ballot.

That's the thing: Trump is now 74, so there is a lifetime of behaviour on which to judge him. His business history is another story of corruption and incompetence: tax evasion, money laundering, in business with organised crime, screwing over contractors and creditors. He has been bankrupted several times, and remember he only started in real estate after his father gave him a massive handout - 420 million USD in today's money (Trump of course claimed it was just one million). He took that fortune and blew it all on failed building projects, casinos, airlines etc. Each time he started over, walking away from massive debts after bankruptcy.

Yet, despite everything, millions of Americans have come to support him personally rather than his party. They looked at his history in business and his total absence of political experience and said 'I don't care'. It must be a sign of a very fragile society which has millions of frightened and angry people. A guy like Trump doesn't get elected in a country at peace with itself.

Kinda like Obama, Biden and Clinton slaughtering tens of thousands of Yemen children via drone strike?

That's a completely different matter, but Trump also orders drone strikes. He is no champion of human rights and international law. But for what it's worth, I agree about their use in the Obama administration. As I said earlier, I'm no fan of Biden at all, but the election was a binary choice.
