Sadly true, the democrats have a pretty bad record with warring. Hilary took out Gaddafi and sent them into anarchy as a country. Yemen is still a mess and people are still getting killed. The Saudis seem to back anyone who isn't Shia and are beating up on them, Trump is happy to let them roll on with it. Trump's introspective world view is probably the best thing about him. A less involved US is a bonus for world affairs. They usually only want conflict to sell their weapons but Trump has done well because he's forcing allies to buy the shit and run their own show so keep up weapon sales while not actually engaging as many of their own troops.

I couldn't agree more, Joffaboy. The only promise Trump made sure he kept was massive tax cuts for the super rich. Every Republican president since Reagan has delivered on ensuring their donors pay less tax; Trump's other promises fell by the wayside. He promised to close tax loopholes alongside the tax cuts, but of course that was quietly dropped. 'Drain the swamp' - well he did nothing about campaign finance reform and lobbyists and appointed members of his family into government posts.

Build a border wall and Mexico will pay - it's hardly been started.

Started a trade war with China. Unqualified support for Israel.

He withdrew America from numerous international treaties, the most disgraceful, in my opinion, being the Paris Climate Agreement. He has decimated the Environmental Protection Agency (created by Republican President Nixon) thus giving big polluters free licence. Hundreds of environmental regulations on things like clean air, clean water, fracking, wildlife protection, building restrictions on areas of natural beauty, have been shredded. Add to that climate change denial.

We don't need to go into the racism and misogyny. He has attacked every minority group you can think off. Children in cages will be something he will always be remembered for. Banned transgender Americans from the military.

His ambivalence towards white supremacist groups, militias and conspiracy theories, including Q-anon has been disgraceful.

His mishandling of COVID has been criminally negligent. Twelve million Americans infected so far, with 250,000 dead. His failure to even do the basics, such as strongly recommend masks, has been insane.

It just goes on and on. I'm not a fan of Biden at all, but Trump has to go. He is completely unqualified and incompetent, in addition to disgusting. His refusal to concede the election but immediately grasp at another conspiracy theory is entirely predictable. The thing is over seventy million Americans voted for him, meaning his movement is still there, and there is a good chance the Republicans will get even worse.

Obama built the facility but was used as a maximum of 72 hours holding area. Trump had a policy that deliberately separated children from parents. It's one of those things where there is an element of truth but the intent was quite different. It's a bit like shooting someone and saying that it's the person who made the gun that is responsible. Obama was definitely more immigrant friendly and even Trump would happily admit that.

Lots of momo chicken? I don't mind Nepali food either, it's like Indian though, the good stuff is excellent but hard to find. You should try some African food next time you are in Melbourne. Ethiopian is pretty good and heap of restaurants have opened in the last 5 years mostly around the inner west and north.

I work with a few Africans but can’t get them to cook me anything. Melbourne it is, hopefully the whole COVID thing will blow over and I’ll be down in March. There is an Ethiopian restaurant in Isa but the only seem to do Indian tucker.

He is a loose cannon with his words, which offends a ton of people these days.

His Presidency didn't have too many surprises for me. He laid out his plans during the 2016 election campaign and he was pretty much sticking to what he said he would do.

I thought his last 18 months have been incredibly poor, though. He botched the corona virus response and doubled down on his poor response.
It felt like once the Russia sh*t was over, he lost his drive. Kinda weird, because I wanted to see how he would have operated while not stuck under the cloud of the supposed Russia interference.


He's nowhere near as bad as people say.

In terms of the American image and brand on the international stage. Well hes plumbing new depths there.

Manufacturing returned in a way, thanks to Trump. Many companies returned, many will continue to return under Biden. Apple is a big one. Large sections of that wall are still getting built. Many places already had a wall.
As far as making America Great Again, perhaps not. The economy was booming under him, though. Jobs were coming back.

But yeah, he didn't drain that swamp.

I'm not saying I'm a MAGA hat wearing Trump supporter that thinks everything he does is great.

He has his faults but he isn't the Anti Christ that the self righteous Biden supporters make him out to be and at least he tried to make some changes.

Biden is no saviour, this guy has been in US politics for almost 50 years and has done nothing apart from line his own family's pockets.

He will be a puppet for the Democrat establishment, most of his supporters are women that are probably hoping he drops dead so Kamela Harris gets the gig.

I read Mary Trumps book with interest but nothing in there fully explains his psychological imbalance. How can you be that "wealthy", that "successful" and still be so so so fundamental insecure.

In reality, at a personal level, its really really sad for him but - hey - given the way he behaves - its also hard not to chant - suffer in ya jocks Donald!!!!

On a more serious note - keep it up Donald - with every petulant rant, every day he refuses to concede, every day he refuses to deal with the covid crisis, all he is doing is making it more likely the Democrats will win both Georgia runoffs and then control both houses of the US parliament.

There is so much ability to bend the rules to suit demented world views. They want to uphold the 2nd amendment.....because they don't trust heir government. "greatest country on earth" only it's lost it's way, God blesses the US...except that it's ****ed and needs changing.

Qanon is so bizarre because it appeals to crazy Nazis, anti vax hippies, christian conservatives and anti government outsiders. They think that there are tunnels under cities that move children for sex trafficking and adrenal gland milking to feed a bunch of evil Hollywood stars and politicians and that Donald Trump is ordained by god as an angel to save them and the world from the evil satanist cult. Their only point of contact is a shady conspiracy version of Johnny Ray that leaks shit from the inside. If it was fiction it would be so implausibly idiotic that it would get rejected. The US has elected some of these people and our prime minister's best friend runs the Australian chapter.
