Man... just worked out next years schedule. I'm moving the family to New York for 12-24 months for work end of the year.

Watching games live will be a killer. Friday night games will be tolerable, 6am Friday morning NY time. Or Sunday 1pm start is 11pm Sat night.

But our beloved Sunday twilight time slot will be a stinker.. i can feel the burn already.

Are you buying a pub there?

Lucky you'll have 24/7 access to big footy for rational, factual reporting of games etc...

In that case St Trav, I'm tasking you with bringing the statue to Moorabbin! If not, maybe a photo of you in front of it?
I might get stung with excess baggage if it take it … plus I reckon ill be a wanted man if I stole it … but ill certainly be there for its unveiling (when ever that is) and ill keep you guys updated on it

Yeah.. going out on my own again once I’ve floated the company. Doing a big development in the financial district. At first I was going to commute - but it’s going to be bigger than first thought.. And the wife actually wants to move there for a bit of adventure..

A depressing part is the school my kids have to go to as exchange from here. I’ll have to take a mortgage just for the fees!

Nicky made the stand not for the St Kilda football club but for himself and his brothers who for generations copped abuse based purely because of their skin colour … the fact Nicky is a proud Noongar man and the fact optus stadium is built on Noongar land to me makes it a fitting spot for it …
Nicky is a hero for the Noongar people and it stands to reason that culturally he be celebrated on Noongar land

ive heard the statue won't be located at the stadium but will be shunned off to the side near the bridge...

Without a doubt
What a disgrace.

Watch them try and defend their positions.

Already the broker industry is calling user pays a big tax on borrowers.

Here's an idea...

A real estate buyers agents job is to find suitable homes, negotiate a good price and then get paid.

I don't care who pays mortgage brokers.

Why can't they just present the best 3 loan deals, disclose their fees from each one, explain the pros and cons, then let the consumer choose?

Simple and transparent.

Problem though is that borrowers don't care. All they want is the loan and don't care where they get the money from, so we have to share the blame IMO.

So brokers take advantage.

Good luck Mikka, You'll have to keep posting and keep us up to date. At least you can have a bit of St Kilda there.

my brokers commission was outlined in the loan i was approved for. i knew he was going to claim a trailing commissions and i know people tell you, you should find a upfront fee broker or do it your self but after speaking with people who have done it themselves, i think the broker was a much better option.

tbh i don't care how much the broker makes from me taking on the loan. that's between him and the bank.

i do think your idea of transparency is a good one, although you may find the deal/interest rate changes on application.

we found finance super easy. 5 days pre-approval. couple of days approval.

Yeah will do. It’s a restaurant, bar & cafe ground level. Hotel, Ballroom and Rooftop bar.. we start in March and done by April next year. I’ll keep you updated and if you’re ever there let me know and it’s my shout. The restaurant should be pretty sweet as well. Teamed up with a prominent chef here who’ll run that to a Michelin standard. Exciting times!

Great stuff, hope it goes great for you

Anything I should check out while I'm in Perth?

StCicatriz st_trav_ofWA and anyone else from WA.

i asked a bloke at work for recommendations for a friend who was coming over from melbourne. he laughed and said melbourne already have everything we have but better in terms of food, drink etc.

if you are here you really wanna go down south or visit the beaches. anything cafe, bar, hotel, restaurant wise will be lame compared to what you have already seen.

are you able to hire a car and go down south for a couple of days? if so Margaret River is your go! would recommend that!

if not visit the swan valley for a brewery or wine tour. its east of perth. can get from the CBD to there in like 30 mins. you can also catch the train to Guildford, check out one of the first settlements and older area of perth. check out the guildford hotel. then jump on a bus to the swan valley.

beyond that fremantle is worth a look. markets + freo oval + jail + older area near the port + esplanade. grab lunch at a cafe on south street? or little creatures... avoid the fish and chip shops there. massive tourist trap.

you def wanna check out the beaches. go to cottosloe and maybe scarborough (its just been redeveloped). swim and then a pint is the tradition. the cott and the sand bar. they're popular spots though. avoid hillary's. want a quieter alternative try the mullaloo beach.

if you want another day trip, check out rottnest island. ferry in the morning. hire a bike, check out the island, grab a pint and dinner, late ferry back.

another day trip is penguin island, its pretty small though. can check out rockingham beach whilst ya there. another place for a swim and a pint.

check out kings park in the CBD.

how many days you here for?
