I think we are going to go somewhere in the middle six, 7-12.

So I think there's a slim chance we make the eight but a lot more likely we end up 9-12.

The draw is a lot easier and with our additions we look a lot quicker. A change in style may get the best out of the list.

I'm guessing that to get into the final eight in 2019, we have to win lots of games, and many teams teams above us in 2018, will need to fall off in form in 2019. Probably not much more complicated than that.

Never mind the snakes and spiders, surely Australia's best animal:

I don’t know about now but when I was a kid these birds were fairly common close to Melbourne in the Dandenong ranges.

It was a popular place to go for a drive and picnic, beautiful place lots of wildlife.

Very unlikely. I think we would be in a better position if we had pumped more games into younger players over the last two years instead of persisting with mature players producing mediocre performances. As it sits we have a handful of quality players, a whole bunch of GOPs and a whole bunch of unknown quantities. That doesn't sound like the makeup of a finals side to me. I expect a finish between 10th-14th after an incosistent season. No doubt there will be moments where we look like world-beaters, but I don't think we have the experience, game plan or quality to play good footy through an entire season.

Pretty much went down how I predicted, though we managed to finish slightly lower than my worse-case scenario. Didn't think we'd be missing Roberton, Bruce, Acres and Long for most of the year though.

Surprise surprise we've finally started clearing out the plodders I was talking about and hopefully we see youth getting more game time. If we had done this 3-4 years ago we would be well ahead of where we find ourselves now.

There's always plodders. At the end of 2019 we'll be saying the same about some of Armo, Newnes, Savage, Dunstan, Longer, Pierce, Joyce, etc.

Went to see Malala in a Q and A on Tuesday night.
What an impressive courageous tough and single minded young woman.

We need more people like her and **** the Taliban arseholes who so bravely shot a 15 y.o in the head.
They tried to silence her, instead 4000 people come to see her talk in Australia 5 years later, she had been awarded a Nobel Peace prize and more girls are at school.in Pakistan than ever.
