A few years back now my wife was in Europe with my Daughter. She'd needed a car suitable for 2 adults a kid and a baby. The Astra wagon on the advert would have been fine but the little hatchbacks they actually had didn't cut it . So she was totally impressed ( not ) when she got a Fiat Doblo. I got a phonecall in the middle of the night, while she was driving down the autostrada from Venice. She was asking me for directions while wringing the guts out of the 1.3litre diesel at 130km/h and complaining everyone else was passing her. The big issue with the freeways was that they would split in two directions, and the signs would be right at the split, so if you were lucky you'd get a look at where you were going as you sailed past the sign well after you had to choose where you were. It was even more fun on the little back roads in the hills of Marche where she was staying ( think of the size of a little english country lane, but with a cliff off the side of it ), but felt better when some of the others staying in the Villa with them rocked up in the same thing. ( Seems hire cars in Italy at the time were 2 sizes ).
Her crowning achievement was , when driving wrong way up a one way road in Arezzo , and seeing a cop clearly looking at her, waving to the cop. ( lazy bastard did nothing lol ).
