So are they also still angry with Bob Hawke 1983 Ash Wednesday and Julia Gillard 2009 Black Saturday?
Both non conservative governments.

ScoMo copped it whilst he was away and now he's copping when he is at the front. He than cops when he meets the Aussie cricket side for an hour on New Years Day. Where is he meant to be?
On the back bench?

The global problem is local weather patterns become more extreme across the world because of climate change, be it fires in Australia, hurricanes in the Caribbean and USA, the rainy season in India, monsoons in the far east, not to mention ice melting at the poles. Even here in Europe, with our temperate climate, winters are milder and wetter, meaning localised floods are much more frequent. Weather patterns that once caused major problems only occasionally are now occurring much more frequently, and in some cases every year. This trend has been gathering momentum in recent decades and in all likelihood is going to deteriorate at an ever quicker rate.

Of course the current fires you are experiencing in Australia cannot be blamed upon any one government, domestic or international, it's a global problem. Yet, sadly, the fires you are having this summer may well be the new normal.

I’m a city boy and apart from a couple of holiday brushes with minor bushfires I’ve never lived through that, I have however been flooded out.

That was bad enough but a minor inconvenience compared to a major fire. Your description of the experience of living under the threat of fire is both eloquent, moving and informative. None of that changes my opinion of what I saw happening with the PM. I had already assumed people were pushed to their limit and was responding to a comment that it was good to see someone going full bogan.

To me full bogan just describes anyone behaving poorly, people screamed when the PM was on holidays now they scream that he shouldn’t be in town for a photo op etc, as gringo said it’s a bit of a no win situation. People want to understand, show empathy and feel like they can do something to help. Sitting hundreds of kilometres or more away and putting up with a bit of smoke haze it’s more of an intellectual exercise about preparation, climate change etc. That’s the audience watching the PM getting abused, I personally don’t think you should be filming people under that sort of stress but unfortunately nothing seems off limits now.

Remembering as you’ve pointed out that we’ve lived through this before and had a royal commission conducted into the last catastrophic fires which questioned among other things should people rebuild, where etc. In that context to hear the PM getting told to **** off and I think the woman yells every time we have a fire or flood we get nothing is just counter productive.

So the photo opp for the PM went badly wrong and all we saw was an angry abusive crowd hound him out of town. If someone like you had delivered your account to the PM imo that’s a powerful thing that people pay attention to, not hearing the PM cop a send off.

So once again understandable but counter productive imo.
Don't justify yourself, don't waste the time or the effort, right now, your part of the problem, making snide comments about someone watching their entirely life being destroyed says a lot about you, no matter how badly her response "plays" yours is worse.

He’s actually good at stage management old Scomo. He plays the Aussie every bloke .... he’s used his marketing background to work out an angle. I think pissing off overseas when he’s spent as many on holiday as in parliament has made people question his authenticity. Once you get on the nose it can take a bit of work to get yourself back.

Emergencies need statesmen to look in control, he looks like he’s still doing Aussie every bloke instead. It would be fine if you want a mate to help move a fridge with you, not a great thing when you need leadership.

You do know politicians don’t even take it as seriously as you. My wife’s husband is a state labor politician. He hated Shorten but hangs with Liberals in his spare time. They don’t give a shit about sides.
That must be awkward

Well i can tell you the Ash Wednesday fires were pretty scary , we didnt have duel cabin trucks back then so only two in the truck with the rest of us on the back in the open

So basically, you agree with my info. Unusual for a lefty, to whom facts are anethama. Still, there is an Asterix. I note another post of mine was deleted because it was filled with facts that offended lefty sensibities. Not hard to do. Disgraceful. Was it you?

Why do facts offend ... I am too foolish to read the site rules snowflakes so much? Is it because it exposes stupidity and dishonesty, which are hallmarks of the left. Pm me your answer, as I wouldn't want to expose your bias in public.

*ABC study is your source? They're so unbiased. ... I am too foolish to read the site rules backing up ... I am too foolish to read the site rules. Thanks for the laughs. Ban yourself for lying. Pc bs. Typical socialist fascism. Can't make your stupid system work so you force it on us. Newsflash. You've been rejected.

Like your Hollywood fools, you deried the system you live from. I hear there are vacancies in Venezuela. Give it a try. If you ban me for this, you'll have made my point for me. And the facts are 80% of bushfire currently burning are due to lightning and arsonists, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, no matter which way the sheltered workshop for ... I am too foolish to read the site rules at the ABC spin it.
Idiotic measures and pressures brought by green councils. Come over and feel the anger at these know nothing fools. My ex lives in Bairnsdale. They' ve been railing against green lunacy for years.

Now the locals are paying the price for the sanctimonious crap of these idiots who are safe in their inner suburban caves, free to eat their yoghurt and sprouts while spewing their hatred and lies.

And thanks for another bullshit laced, leftist homily from half a world away. I took you off ignore for a moment and there it was, right on cue. You have no idea. Stick to your revisionist bs of your precious empire and leave the adults to solving our problems.

Wow

Yeah. Tell us pom. From half a world away what your answers are. And don't quote your useless left wing bibles. I'm actually out here volunteering in Bairnsdale, so take your sanctimonious pommy, know all attitude and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I bet you have no idea how hated your kind are, wherever you've r*ped, stolen and killed your way through. Truth hurts, but that wouldn't bother you, as the truth and poms are an oxymoron. A virus on the world. You're getting your up commence now. Britain is a joke. Your leaders should be at Nuremberg with nooses around their necks.

Remember just three years ago the poms wanted to put up a statue of bomber Harris in Dresden. Only the arrogant, hubrisic poms could conceive of that. How's that for a wow, pommy?

Firebombed a town known not to have any military value, manufacturing capability, nor soldiers' presence. Just women and children. Don't believe me? Ask my mother and then three year old brother who survived it. As always, the cowards you've always been. Women and children. Your speed. Lucky the yanks came to your rescue, otherwise you'd be speaking German and eating sausage and sauerkraut. Even your king, before he abdicated was a Nazi. Edward felt they had better morals than your lot.Now you lecture us on the cause of our bushfire. See the theme emerging? Save it for your circle jerk in your echo chamber.

So wow. Cop a bit of truth. Not the bs some halfwit academics taught you at school. The greatest anti intellectuals amongst us are those who ignore the truth. That means you. Happy New Year.

It's great that you are volunteering to help those in desperate trouble; more power to all of you helping. However, the rest of the rant is a bit unnecessary, no?

Be safe anyway.

It wasn’t meant that way but that’s the end of it as far as I’m concerned.

Sorry Drake, I like your posts but you are way of the mark here.

Follow the private money and it will give you the answer.

I'm no expert, as an accountant by trade, but I have spent more than a dozen years overseeing large infrastructure projects across the globe and currently head up risk management of a billion dollar firm with a huge and influential footprint.

For the past two years we have been running risk assessments on the business and effects specifically of climate change. Millions of dollars have already been poured into this and I can tell you that mine is not the only large firm doing this. They wouldn't if it wasn't a real danger and as a result plan for the effects of climate change in the country and economy 20-40 years in the future. Most likely long after you and I have shuffled off the mortal coil. It's an expensive exercise and affects present day decision making.

The consensus is this will become the new norm. It is being planned as such and no 'lefty greenie' politics will change the fact. The fires will burn with more intensity so back burning, whilst may help a little, will do squat in regards to these type of fires.

They won't happen every year, but they will be more frequent. That is generally agreed by people cleverer than you or I.

Mate ,

Maybe everyone and I mean everyone , calmly sit down and listen to Greg Mullins on ABC radio this
morning listen to a guy with knowledge about Fires , listen to full knowledge of the Fire Chief’s
, Forest Management dept they’ll set you straight , we are poorly served by the people in power.

They are experts , they all tell the same story ineptitude from Government.

I don't know if your close to the fires, or part of them, or well away from them, I can tell you as someone that is very close and has been in them before that everyone here is stretched, the stress levels are enormous and they seemingly endless, very simple things like the mail, bred, milk, water, petrol, power, phones, a day to day what's happening, tools that worked a week ago just stop working, and every day you know that you'll have to make a life or death decision sometime, but no idea when, there's one road in and one road out, it's been going for 5 weeks and there's no respite in sight.

So here's a decision that has to be made, evacuate or not? First I have to have somewhere to go, can I afford it, if I go then the majority of houses that burn down are from spot fires that if there was someone there it's easy to put out, but a fire front is indefensible, if I go I will lose everything, if I go can I get back, in 2003 we sent our old Mum to Melbourne, she was there for 2 months and came back and had another month with the fires, then there's the animals, then there's the history. Then there's me, 54 in poor health but no children or partner, I've been a broken man 3 times already and if I lose everything I'm not sure I've got the courage to start from nothing again. But if I go I'll survive, maybe, because the fires still won't be out, fear and anger and pride and ego, holding on keeping calm, trying to make good decisions every day, and every day the information we get is wrong.

Everyone of those bogans is me and I am them, my stress is theirs according to where we live, how many children, how old etcetera, every choice is different. I don't give a flying FCUK about a woman going the full bogan, good on her, and if it doesn't play well to a large portion of the population, wait until your house is burnt down, wait until you've done this 4 times and then make a call because right now she's in the middle of it and if people don't like her going the full bogan they can get FCUKED.

Jesus man I feel stressed just reading that. You’re a tougher man than I am. I’m not sure I’m that stoic. When you put it that way it’s a surprise people hold it together at all in front of the media.

Sounds interesting. Do you have a link to it at all?

OK doomer.
Oh and by the way here's the reference you wanted.
That would be 1 5th of the population living in poverty at the end of 2018, that number drastically increased last year with changes to importing costs and with the blowjob himself becoming PM leading to the first round of gutting to the public services in Britain. Considering most kids are born to lower socio-economic families in Britain it really isn't hard to understand how 35% are living in poverty. Unless you have blinders on I guess.
Another reference indicating that children are more than twice as likely to be living in poverty as adults: https://unicefethiopia.org/tag/poverty/

Show me your references now old mate. Show me the proof against anything I'm saying. Show me why Corbyn's tax plan was bs. Show me why blowjob and his Murdoch payroll compatriots aren't bad for Britain or Australia in the case of scumo?
