With oil prices crashing I've ordered 5 cents of oil. Here's the delivery:

It's interesting the oil prices. The US oil producers have seen the writing on the wall and ramped production and racked up massive debt thinking that they go for 5 years or so then send in the bankruptcy papers. Only, Saudis and Russia decided to do it as well. No one wants to blink so prices plummeted. Then CV hit on top of it which has dropped demand to a trickle. It costs $30 a barrel to produce shale oil and now they are paying to have it taken away. The US won't sell a new car that runs on gasoline in 5 years time and that means there won't be the demand for oil in about 10.

There could be a lot of the worlds environmental vandals who mess in politics going down by natural selection because of CV. Hard to believe that some of the richest and most dominant corporate entities could have hit the skids so quickly.

I understand your sentiments here, but the issue you have is under funding of the public sector. Nobody's health should be a matter of how much they can afford to spend. It is a human right, not a consumer choice. Prince or pauper, everyone should have the best possible care in such situations.

It already is.
They could screen everyone with MRI's every few years and find problems. But MRI's are bloody expensive.

Hypotheticals:
A surgeon develops a new procedure, he's the only one who can do it. He can only do 50 a year, but 1000 people will die in the next year if they don't get it.
How does he choose?

Private hospital spends a small fortune on an MRI, they should then donate its use?

Kerry Packer needs a kidney transplant, suddenly his helicopter pilot is his best friend.

Have a good look most everywhere else in the world, our health system is pretty good.
I've been grateful to it on more than one occasion.

It might bring in the age of the electric car a little bit faster.

I've been thinking Coles has a new promotional idea. A free tank of petrol for every 30 dollars spent in store.

Who would know. Usually kept very quiet and for good reason.
I do. I get to see the daily incident reports for Metro every so often. You'd be surprised at some of the shit that delays a train.
Police request is metro's go to:

Same incident. Different wording.

Unfortunately it's not unusual for our line, there were quite a few stops previously at say St Albans where people were using train schedules for suicide attempts, the crossing was quite notorious for disembarking due to a fatality on the tracks sadly.

This is at the other end though going by that wording, but literally doesn't surprise me any more, as a mates dad was one said train driver and he was scarred for life based on the shit he saw.

Ancestry.com have a thing at the moment where you can look up war records for a family member for free. I knew my uncle died in ww2 but didn’t know much else. He joined the army in 39 and I saw he was missing in action in 42. He died in 45 so he was a prisoner of war for 3 years before he died. How terrible would that be. He was in Borneo in one of worst war camps and died just before the war ended. How would his mother feel not knowing anything for 3 years. War is shit. If you know your relatives full name year of both and where they were born I suggest you have a look. It’s was sad for some weird reason but very interesting. Probably sad for my grandmother more than my uncle as I knew my grandmother.
